ALAN Scott, the deputy head of St Leonard's College middle school, who scored a mention here on Monday in a flashback yarn about a teenaged Chris Judd kicking 15 goals in a school match, has another memory of his star student he would like to share with us. Not only does he still describe him as "the most talented all-round junior I have seen" (in 29 years of school coaching experience) but his favourite tale concerns a match against St Michael's Grammar at Elsternwick Park. Scott said Judd had had a quiet first quarter by his standards so he pulled him aside during the break and said "Mate, you're pussyfooting around a bit today." Said Scott: "Juddy gave me a smirk and said, 'Pussyfooting, am I?' He went out and kicked three goals in the first two minutes of the second quarter (playing as a ruck rover). One of those goals came from him sharking the ball from the centre ball-up, taking one bounce and kicking a 45-metre drop punt on the run."

Hopefully he has been 'pussyfooting around' for the first 6 years of his career, and now that he is at Carlton he will really turn it on!!

:D:D

This reminds me of a story concerning another great Michael Jordan, who was having a quietish game in the NBA, another player from the opposition who was a rookie said to him when he was at the foul line something along the lines of, "having a quiet day are you great one, i was expecting something better than what you're showing" Michael Jordan looked at the player, closed his eyes and sunk the free throw!! and replied "welcome to the NBA" He went on to score over twenty points for the quarter!!!

Greatness can be turned on at the switch of a button!! Lets hope Ratts uses this line if the great man is having a quiet day!

Lets hope opposition players let Judd know about any quiet quarters he might have. :p

i heard juddy tapped a ball to himslef and then went on to kick a goal from the centre square at Caulfield Grammar...
maybe he will be the saviour to our ruckmen woes

What else can he achieve. Hopefully the triple double.

2 X Brownlow
2 X Norm Smith
2 X Premierships

Its still sends me in a spin when i think he's with the Blues.

Ohhhh go you good thing.

Said it Dikembe Mutumbo (used to wave his finger at people after he blocked them)

Jordan dunked on him and waved the finger at him

Mutumbo was a rookie once? That's like my parents saying "we were kids once" it can't be true...
