I don't expect Judd to perform at his usual standards, but after reading the recent article posted on the blues website, I was wondering what people's thoughts are on this quote:
Judd says his own performance expectations are “pretty low” for the moment, but he’s hoping to be operating at full capacity once he’s blown away the cobwebs.
“I think the main thing I want to do at the moment is just to get out on the park,” he says.
“Realistically, over the next four or five rounds, I’ll probably be more of a bit-part player through the midfield.”
What does bit-part player through the midfield mean? That he'll rotate through other positions, or that he will only play half a game? And while I know he isnt 100%, I hope he seriously didn't say his expectations of himself is "pretty low"
As much as Im looking forward to seeing Judd out there, these comments don't put much confidence out there. I don't want to play Judd just for the sake of playing Judd, and if he doesn't expect to do too much, with our depth in the midfield, should we not at least consider others to play instead.
I admit I might be reading to much into it, and everyone will think he should just play, but I guarentee the boys will be looking to pass it off to Judd as much as possible, so his expectations better be more than "pretty low" come matchday
