Because ed is on his high horse about collingwood never changing its jumper. Well he has changed it, and this would be a perfect away jumper, this is the one you guys have worn for a long time.
It has more white in it, please Pie supporters send something to Pie admin, get this jumper back in, for the sack of the competition.
And that one last night had a black magpie thing on it that is different, but the jumper was still black.

nothing. Eddie needs to grow up. Its not an important issue, give the AFL an alternative strip and lets move on.

Would of been perfect tonight and Pies would conflict with probably nobody.
I'm not to worried about changing our jumper back to what it was in the early 90s as an alternate. But you have to have that arguement with King Eddie.

I'm really not sure why Eddie doesn't go ahead and do it, find another sponsor and wear their colours, good for the league (shuts most other clubs up) and good for the club (more money for the side the go spending some decent players)

It does not matter one little bit.
Besides we have a home jumper and an away jumper.
Our away jumper has the magpie on the front. Our home jumper does not.
Every other code in the world sees the opportunity to have an alternative strip as a big money spinner for the club. Supporters buy one of each. (I should know I buy more club merchanise than any other human being!)
If we want to be seen as a progressive club (Eddie has said the Manchester United of Australia and they sure have an away strip) we should embrace the idea.
IMO being a 'stick in the mud' over this issue does not portray the image the club should want

I disagree with Eddie on this point, and his calling of Collingwood matches.
It's be too easy to wear mainly white, especially now that the umpires are wearing flourescent pink and such.
Inverse the current strip, white shorts, white socks, white boots. Who ****en cares??
The only trouble with that strip is that Norf ripped our jumper off years ago and are difficult to avoid a clash with no matter which way we turn. So stuff them, they can wear flouro pink with the scumps!!

This can be achieved and still qualify as a valid away jumper. I can't understand what all the fuss is about. A "light" away jumper, 70% white with 30% black stripes ( and a "dark" away jumper , 70% black with 30% white stripes.
How difficult is that? The AFL get what they want and our "comprimise" doesnt undermine our tradition.
There are a few issues in that sinmple statement though. Firstly a lot of the noise is about a bigger change than that. Mostly what concerns me is how precedent is used against us. The more we change the more we'll be forced to change. I don't discount the Port factor completely either. No idea if that is in the clubs thinking but the further we are from what we want the closer others are to having us in what they want and in Ports case the closer they are to wearing what they want.
Disagree. The sooner we come up with a compromise on our terms, the sooner everybody will shut up about it. The longer we procrastinate and beat our chests, the more likely for the AFL to force us into wearing orange and green checks with blue and white striped sleeves.

ive been watching footy since the late 70's and allot of teams jumpers have changed and even ours have of some degree .... back then i didnt have trouble working out who was who on either team nor did i see "oh these jumpers clash" yet these guys played in mud????? and these days i still have no problems working out who is who on either team ....... im so sik and tired of this discussion i couldnt care what we wore as long as its black and white (with NO other colors) ....everyone has the right to an opinion but geee whizz this topic gets beyond a joke...... Isnt it time to just worry about winning a game and getting back up where we like to be

Agreed, why change because the fly by nighters chose to regularly modify jumpers and colours, and may clash with the b&w stripes we have worn for over 100 years.
