Justin Sweeney

I was wondering what Saints fans can tell their thoughts on Justin Sweeney. I know he was the pick outa nowhere last draft but he seems to be kicking bags in the VFL each week and another great pick up by Beveridge.

Will be a Pettifer kind of player.

Sweeney was Casey's 2nd best player yesterday, kicked 4 and looked very lively.

Will get a game this season I think, if not early next season.

I too was wondering how Justin Sweeney is going at your VFL affiliate Casey Scorpions. I have heard a bit and he seems to be progressing quite nicely. Is there any chance he will be selected to debut soon?

Some people on a forum from the league Justin played in last year have been discussing his last few matches.

Sweeney has kicked 10 goals in the last three VFL games, and has already been an emergency once recently (vs Sydney).

The selectors may wish to blood a few more players to prepare for the '07 retirements, but I wonder if they are willing to do so against Adelaide?

You would think he would get a go at senior level because he has earned it, rather than the match committee wanting to blood young players.

From all reports is in good form.
