Just thought you might be interested in this. Carlton had a second meeting with Kane this week. They have all but told him they will pick him in the draft if they don't trade the pick away. It is now unlikely that they will. Kane is already making accomodation arrangements in northern melbourne and has decided on a uni course he wants to do, marks permitting.

Don't bother asking for a source coz i can't tell you. If you don't believe me don't but I thought some of you might like to know.

Doesn't surprise me. Welcome aboard Kane. However if for some weird reason the Dogs decide to not pick Cooney, the Blues may go back on their commitment to Tenace.

Cant see the Dogs passing on Cooney but it is not a bad idea for Carlton to speak to a player or even give them a commitment.
As you pointed out it doesn't mean that they will stick to it after all the Saints commited to Salopek before they snared the number 1 pick and then of course they took Goddard.
