What the Pies cannot afford to do is go into their shells and attempt to simply defend the riptide that is the Kangaroos. They still need to take the game on, and attempt to hit that kick into the corridor if they're any chance of posting a reasonable score, but in doing so, they cannot allow their backline to be drawn up to the play. Instead, maintaining that structure in defence is the best insurance against turnover in dangerous parts of the ground.

North Melbourne largely moves the ball by foot, controlling play through marks, uncontested possession, and marks inside 50. It averages a record 14.7 marks inside 50 – averaging 10 more than its opposition – and also uses the ball at a record 68.3 per cent disposal efficiency. Collingwood must do whatever it can to interrupt that sort of clean, controlled movement down the field. It is likely that Eilish Sheerin will spend more time in the midfield in Garner's absence, as she did in the second half last year, while Ruby Tripodi's midfield minutes are likely to increase as well.

Looks like we're playing just about everyone on the defensive side of centre. So when we get the ball out on a fast break there absolutely no one to kick too....
We're trying not lose this game by 10 goals, so it's all defence by us, but will we even score??

This game plan is a joke....We're trying to protect the scoreboard, so we don't get smashed, but we have nothing up forward.
So the win isn't a concern, its just about not getting pumped. These tactics will take this team 10 steps backwards...
Just let them play normal attacking footy, and if we get smashed so be it. But you learn more from that, than this garbage.
We're playing defensively now, and we're still getting pumped..!!

Not a great advert for the product, bloody hard to watch, and that crowd was less than fur VFL games. It feels like the game is going backwards, which makes me sad.

Like watching an Aus Kick Game

I'd trade Rowe for a high pick if a team offers that.

I said after last season l would look to move on Bonnici, Cann or Schleicher and Rowe for high end draft picks.
I'm not sure what this team is doing. Is it rebuilding or is it keeping the core players eg. Bonnici and build around them.
If it's the latter then it's not working. There's players that have been on that list for quite a few seasons now, and the team hasn't progressed at all.
We need to do an AFL Richmond. Trade out players with value, get a bunch of
picks in and get good young talent in and build the team along with Cronin, Centra, Schutte etc...
Also the trading has been horrible. Every player we trade in, can't get on the park for that season. From Morris-Dalton to Howarth to Hyde to now Mattea Breed. Do we take players with injury issues so we get them cheaper?
I have had a membership for this team going 4 season’s now, and have seen no improvement in that time....

We’ve gone with the interesting recruitment strategy of picking neither skilled players nor high potential athletes. Most of the girls try hard but gee it’s basically an entire team of end-career Shane O’Brees
