and the downside?? poppin coc and eccies the night before and after games because it is undetectable. Yeh is a good young defender, but personally i believe that we should giove a kid in the draft who is willing to live and die by the sword, and committ everythign he has over a washed up player who has been delisted by the scum (and thats saying something), and has thrown countless chances out the window.

i disagree how clubs take passes int he draft, and i disagree with clubs picking up players who have already screwed up their chances, over a kid who will do anything for that oen chance.

Disagree

You have to remember these are kids who are just teenagers when they get drafted and are used to getting everything served up to them on a platter.Someone like Norman who screwed up(remember he only took a few pills, he didnt shoot the pope) when given a second chance could come back hungrier knowing they dont have a chance left.

Id be willing to give him a go

collingwood has made it quite clear, that players that a prone to doing such things woudl not be tolerated anymore(i have a feeling it has alot to do with the new drug laws that have been introduced)!
 
He is not a key defender, even if he is 193cm. More of a flanker. Has a lot of talent, but is as dumb as they come. Hopefully the fool realises when he's a bit older what an idiot he was and how he wasted such a fantastic opportunity

His supposed Talent has always been over-stated I believe, has really shown nothing to suggest he can cut it at this level

If Karl Norman is rated worthy of being given a 2nd chance, then why shouldn't Collingwood give him a go !
Martin Pike was passed up by a number of clubs and left the game with 4 flags !
We had Millane who was always in some sort of trouble before his tragic death !
But different eras and far different players in terms of ability ....still miss you "Pants"
 
Not sure what the benefit of a guy like Norman would be but I suspect he'd be worth a punt. Dennis Pagan has a history or throwing wayward types onto the street and not giving them a chance. Sacking Pike is a legendary blunder by Pagan. He tried to sack Fevola but the couldnt find a buyer.

As far as I'm aware Norman's been behaving himself. Not sure we want him but as a late draft pick maybe its worth the risk.

Only problem is Malthouse has a similar aversion to clowns like Norman, and might do no better than Pagan did. A coach like Blight or Sheedy would love him. Maybe Sheedy will trade in one pet project (Zantuck) for another (Norman).
 
Personally I wouldn't mind punting on Norman but there is no way MM would take him on. He doesn't suit his good bloke can't play policy.

Never been a big fan of that policy. I reckon you should just judge a player on their abilities and try to make sure they look after themself off the track. A good example is the Chicago Bulls. They had Dennis Rodman who was mad off the court, but once he played, he was focussed and was an important player.

Pagen gave Norman more than one chance,As for Fev being for sale most are at the right price and he kick_started Pike's career and gave him a flag,he is renowned for getting the best out of player's.

Walker is as good as any young player on any list in the leauge give the kid a chance.He has done a lot more with his life than you. :thumbsu:
