Hi everyone, 46 year collingwood supporter with a story on why (relating to karma to do with me) we will win.

As a young teenager I went to every match 4 loosing GFs and numerous disappointments during the eighties. However in 1989, I left australia and travelled OS for 5 years. Of course in 1990 I was living in london, of course because it was a week later than normal there was no satelite so I never go to see the game until 1994. :eek: Of course my dad sent the radio broadcast on tape and the WEG poster and I enjoyed the game against the bombers the week later at the oval and I got to have few bevvies with boys, however I missed out. My sister who hates football actually went to the game and went missing for 2 days. :rolleyes:

Anyway when I returned home I had to put up with the bad years. Eventually in 02 and 03 I went to the GFs but as you know we lost. :thumbsd: So my record was crap. I really thought I would never get to see a win. So with that in mind and the way we lost last year I booked a trip to Thailand during the school hols in september(I'm a teacher, don't cuss me). I was really excited as this was a luxury holiday something I had never done before as I often travel backpacker style. As the year was going along I was starting to think about our chances, then mid year there was a little slump and I thought well that will be ok I won't miss out. However as you all know we made the GF and I left on sunday for Thailand. Of course I really I enjoyed the Prelim. My friends believe its Karma and we will win however I was really still nervous, then my sister told me last night on facebook she got a ticket. I couldn't believe it, this is really Karma, you see she has only ever gone to one other match and you know when that was. So guys if all holds true we have a chance because I am not there. If we do happen to win I am writing to Eddie and every year he could pay for me to go O/S. What do you reckon???

Anyway, I have found a bar, in a girlie area owned by a sleasy pom, but who cares, I will be hanging off the bar watching every moment thinking of all collingwood supporters and hoping I will really enjoy the $1 cocktails and the rest of the day in Hua HIn.

So What is your hard luck story.

GO PIES:footy::):):):)

I havent got a hard luck story but I've got an overseas story. In 2003, I was in Europe and following the finals through the internet. For the semi against Brisbane, I was in bucharest and couldnt believe that we won. I was thinking about it for 2 weeks while I was on the road and by that time I was in Budapest where I was camping in a place without any internet.

I still remember ringing my mother around midday on Saturday and the first thing she said to me was "I know you're going to be disappointed...."
