I think in general it was good to see the guys that get bashed the most on this bored in Hyde, Tivendale and Pettifer really stand up and have good games. Hyde was terrific out of the centre and kicked two vital goals, while Tivendale kicked 3 and was also good around stoppages. Pettifer had his best game for the year kicking 3 goals, but more importantly leading up the ground so that Richo was 1-on-1 in most occasions. He probably had 3 or so assists as well

Hyde, Krakouer and Tivendale all played well, nice to see they can still have an influence at times.

Shame Krak was injured, he was very smart with the ball and would have had about 20 possies.

loved the run and gun attitude tonight from the tiges, and Hyde was a leader at it.

hyde was good around the scrimmages getting the ball out effectively as well as running. hyde can also kick long goals, i was surprised at the distance he got with his shot outside 50m.

He deserves to stay on the list next year. Still a good, B grader.

Its not like we have a massive amount of depth.

He was fantastic last night. Took them on and rarely gets caught.

has anyone else realised how often he baulks people? last night he did it about 3 or 4 times and the game down at geelong last year when he kicked 5 he did it about the same. never gets caught. and for a left footer is not bad on his right.

very tenacious, I really like Hyde because of this and hope he can step his game up to an even higher level and really make his mark. Love his willingness to take the game on.

He takes them on, its good to watch. But unlike some other blokes in our side he rarely gets caught, but sometimes puts more pressure on himself by doing it.

Its good to see we have a huge number of players who aren't afraid to take the opposition on:
J Bowden
N Foley
J King
S Edwards
C Hyde
B Deledio
R Tambling
A Raines

Hell even Richo dumbied his opponent last night in the last quater to have a running shot from 40...he missed, but meh

he does it every game. He's an exciting player to watch and has kicked several excellent goals over the last 2 years. He looks fast when he has the ball, but doesn't when he's chasing. I'm not sure if he doesn't chase hard enough or if he is just buggered when in defending and chasing mode. I think his best goal was against Carlton in round 4 or 5 last season running at full speed

I like the look of Edwards too.
Am I the only one who has been ultra impressed by this first-year player?
Listened to an interview with Jade Rawlings last night beofre the game. he said JON is held in very regard at the club. Hasn't had a pre-season yet, and Rawlings said he will be a player. I hope so.

Played a typically good game as usual. If you haven't got much good to say about him you obviously don't follow the club properly :thumbsu:

ahhh kind of knew this thread was going to happen. Yeah Hydey, you are a beauty and seeing as you produced one game, then we are chuffed about it. Now lets see if its the usual 1 or 2 a season, that keeps dip sticks like this suggesting what they suggest. Lets put it this way fool, if you can say he has produced anything remotely similar to this this year or last, apart from the one game against the cats, then you obviously watch the tigers too. ;)

your the fool who says he only plays 2 good games a season.

Put it this way Cogga.

We have to name 22 players each week. We will only turn over 5-7 players each year. There's plenty of other guys to make way before we delist or trade Hyde, and there's few others to replace him in the 22 with. He deserves to be in the team.

That may well be an indictment of where we are as a club (from your POV) but in any case there are far more players to get wound up about than Chris Hyde.

Personally I think he is in our best 22. He's not our best player but not our worst by a long shot. I think he's OK. Does that make me a fool or a dipstick still?

I was happy to see hyde play well last night. Maybe its just me but I still think the changing point was a couple of years ago when he clashed his head. he was playing great that year till that point. I only hope he can reach that consistancy again.

So Cogga, you mean the 2 good games he played already being Carlton Round 1 (20 pos, 3tkls, 1 goal) and the Western Bulldogs (18 pos, 3 tkls, 3 goals) or Even Colling wood where he got 16 touches and 3 tackles. And we are only half way through the season.

Lets be honest here and say he is not going to be a superstar, but he plays his role well.

And if I hear any of this bulls^&t about how he holds the ball up when he has it, I am going to spit it. If you watch not only the ball carrier, but ahead of the play you will see that he is clearly under instruction not to kick to a contest, and there are often no options, which is not his fault.

dude if you watch the game, then tell me, why doesnt this happen when a Lids or a Polo or one of those dudes that know what they are doing has it, but somehow, like out of the blue when Hyde has it, this ****en happens?
Do you know why it happens? BEcause he holds the fukcing ball up, because he hasnt got the skill to not hold it up.
You end up having contests to kick to,when you take forever to work out if you can hit the non contest. By the time you work it out, you have to hold it up, because it has become a contest. If you cant see that, then you do have NFI
I look for players that can get us to the top, you look for players that can get us to 12th, thats the ****ing difference. ;)
