With trades now becoming a premium, perhaps we're all looking at players thay just a week or so ago were going to be upgraded/downgraded. Post your keeper conundrum here and everyone comment....

Thumbs Up for a keeper.....

Thumbs down for trade.....

Mine??

Luke Ball..... Originally purchased as a keeper but really did disappoint early on. I had the gun to his head on he was out to bring in Judd but had to put it off. Seems to have come good and looks to be a quality contributor averaging 100+ over the last 3 weeks.....

Keep him unless he gets injured. Even if he slips down to being your 6th midfielder, he's got a permanent job in the Pies' midfield, and looks to be playing good footy in a good side. Has ruined O'Bree's life, BTW.

My tip is he gets injured, though, and you then bail bail bail. The guy's muscles and tendons seem to be made of silly string.

I'd keep Ziebell a few more weeks to see how his scoring goes without Anthony in the side, but probably look to upgrade.

David Hille?

I'm inclined to think so since I have Cox/Hille but with only about 4-5 trades left prepared for LTI. Sandilands at $615k with approx $250k to trade him in is a big amount of cash to blow when it could be used for 2 trades.

Short of an LTI (OR 6 week suspension :D) - Keeper. :thumbsu:

JPod is a keeper. I would be a travesty and appalling coaching if Bomber drops JPod before Hawkins. You can't play favourites at AFL level, especially not when you want to win a flag. Podsiadly has been clearly their best big forward, and should play out the year on a stacked team. :thumbsu:

But he'd be one of the last places I'd upgrade if you're not planning on switching him out this week, and the first I'd consider a "keeper" if you run out of trades (ala Rich last year).

BALL - thumb up.

With trades at a premium someone who can score 90 a week with the occational ton is a keeper, also many people would have got rid of him so he is somewhat of a uinique.

Mine: ZIEBELL (as a fwd)??

Thumbs down for Ball. 90 pw is not enough even for 6th mid.

Some guys in the mids who have accumulated more pts than Ball so far:

Tyson Edwards, Danyle Pearce, Kieran Jack, Adam Selwood, Heath Hocking, Brent Moloney. I suppose they are keepers too?

Ball is getting the hype, but he isn't getting the numbers. Even Sidebottom and Wellingham have higher averages to date.

Rawlings, Rischitelli, Wells, Carazzo, have all have scored more and would have cost you less. But they aren't in the paper every other day I guess.

Think you probably misse dthe point of the OP.....

Those guys you mentioned might very well be keepers (I don't know their stats) if you're short on trades...

I disagree, even tho i myself had Ball and got rid of him. last 3 games (since i got rid of him) he has averaged around 110. I think he is however 'expendable' if you want to get say the likes of Swan or Judd in your team.

Speaking of those big ruck boys... is Natainui a keeper?

I've got him supporting Gigantilands, and that's going OK so far... but I'm not sure he's a keeper keeper.
Much the same as Hille i reckon and probably averaging more than him lol so yes keeper but a luxury upgrade target perhaps.

Mine is BBBH. Frustrating as hell but should score quite well over the next couple of weeks so his price could be at its peak..around 430-450k.

For sure. If you are low on trades then anyone who's getting a game and racking up a decent score is a potential keeper. Maguire and Waters for example look likely at D7 in defense with low 80's averages. And Ball, with his 88av seems like he might be worth keeping as M6. I'm just pointing out that I reckon you should expect at least 100av from M6 because of the plethora of mids available who can score at least 100 each week. True Ball has a 110av for the last 3 games, but he had 73av from the 3 before that. So you gotta take the bitter with the better.

But good luck to you if you are keeping him and I hope he continues to rack up the 100's for you.

Like I said in the OP, he was gaaaaaawn...... But has come good.....allowing me the luxury of having him there whilst I attend to more urgent issues.... :o

Interested in everyone's thoughts about Rob Murphy.

One of the bulldogs best when on song- but hasn't had the best season (his DE has been down this year).

OUt for 2-3 weeks; but is he going to bounce back to his best?

Murphy is a headache im glad i dont have! Hes seriously underpriced at 290k or so, lately his scoring has been shizen tho. If you have say Pods covering and shouldnt lose too many points he might be worth hanging onto.

He 'might' come back and do ok,he should at least score reasonably well and increase in price. I would back him to come in and score ok, maybe average 80-90ish. Thats if his body is right tho.

He was my secret weapon..... :p Won't make that mistake again.....

Originally made the team as a potential keeper from a starting price of $350k. Excepting Rioli, has been the biggest spud of my team all year. I don't feel like I've lost too much as I'll upgrade him but I wouldn't be bringing him in... Or keeping him for that matter!!! :thumbsd:

Will sit on my bench now. Not worth a pinch of shit, no rookie forwards to downgrade anyway.

Any thoughts on martin, is it time to get rid of him, he seems to have peaked?

BE of 73. His time has come. If he maintains his average of 72 over the next 3 weeks he's only going to make you about another 20k.

Goodbye Marto, thanks for the cash > Hello Premium! :):thumbsu:
