Where thinking of changing our ISP(with bigpond at the moment) but have one problem my Dad uses his email for business with his bigpond email being printed on all his business cards is there anyway we can keep the email and change ISP.

No, unfortunately not.
You can try calling Telstra to negotiate something but generally once you leave, they will disconnect the email completely.

Nice choice in leaving Bigpond though :thumbsu:

Telstra are so unafordable, they don't have very reasonable plans. Yeah its a tough one. you just have to use a new email, unless you change your current account at Telstra to the cheapest available plan, and get a new account, and continue to use your cards with the Telstra Email, but ordering new cards may be cheaper.

I know on my old provider they keep your email open for you and then you could just redirect email from their to your current email. Whether telstra do that or not is another matter.....

If other providers offer this, surely Telstra should be persuaded to as well. Knowing them, they'll charge a steep amount per month just for this.

Bigpond do allow you to keep the email as long as you ask the right way.

I know a heap of people with it and if i remember correctly the plan is something like $30 a year to keep the email address.

Alternatively you could always get a dial up service through them (basically the lowest plan available) and make it so that your email address gets linked to that account.

Casual usage plan = $25 for the year. <--- Easiest option IMO

thanks mate that helps a heap

Personally Dylz48, I would bite the bullet and dump Bigshlong altogether; they are a ripoff and don't really provide a good service for the money.

There are a few redirection email sites such as Bigfoot but personally I would just do some homework, get a decent ISP and use their email addy :thumbsu:
