Not sure if i heard right but Gary Lyon was talking on MMM before the game today and inferred that he would have Kel Moore in the initial squad of 40 for All Australian ahead of Morris from the bullies...

Fair accolade i reckon ... reckoned he argueably did the best out of anyone on Franklin all year ..

He is a wonderful story that boy ... hats off to the club for sticking with him and hats off to Kel for working his @rse off and becoming what he has :thumbsu:

All the friggin bullshit we hear on this board about bungled draft picks etc ... we should recognise our club and our football dept. for the job they have done with this kid .

He is effectively a gun footballer out of nothing ....

****en funny he should mention that, they were talking on SEN of the bath morris/lake had on franklin last night , at same time I was thinking of the marvelous job Kel moore had done...We should not underestimate the strength our back half will give us into the future...The dogs could have done with Thursty/Moore last night

my sentiments exactly, some of the tripe around here makes me spew, Moore, Mcguane and Thursty are all terrific recruits handpicked by Miller and will be the difference as we emerge from the pack.

Hmm whatever happened to my optimism thread - "Positives of 2008"

umm, the resistance lead by Capt Cogg and corporal Beaver launched a fierce assault during the week, anything remotely positive was in the line of fire, we're still counting the casualties but Brigadier Bojangles has this to say, we may have lost the battle , but we'll win the ****en war:thumbsu:

They were talking about Dale Morris initially.

Then Garry asked BT if Morris had had a better season than Moore.

It was an interesting question, BT said that Morris' consistent 22 matches probably got him in ahead of Moore, and that Kel had taken a while to warm up.

But it looks good that our young players are finally getting some recognition, signs for the future perhaps? Kel Moore AA next year? :thumbsu:

As someone who has been accused of being negative and having written off Moore last year, I am happy to admit i was wrong. He has been fantastic.
At the risk of sounding like a certain someone who shall not be named:
Well done to GM for spotting him. Well done to TW and the coaching staff for persisting with him through injuries and lack of confidence to help him develop into the gun defender we have now.:thumbsu:

you wouldnt be the only one, often i have thought to myself why is he still on our list.

I'm not sure if any of you watched AFL Teams on foxtel thurday night but the panel were discussing the defenders for the All Australian squad and Liam Pickering piped up and said that Kel should have definitely made the short list of 40 and he went on to say he would finish top 4 in your B & F.

I know for a fact that Pickers is not his manager and Pickers usually only praises his own so to praise Kel the way he did, he must have really rated his season.

For those who ask why a Hawks supporter is interested in Kel, it's because i'm mates with him.

So naturally now i watch the Tigers and find myself supporting them when not playing the Hawks.

aghh you would be too from Nth ringwood, I saw him at eastlands recently, say I hear his brother is a gun, is that so?

I caught a bit of SEN yesterday and Grant Thomas (Richmond Hater) actually praised Kel Moore on his season and then went on to say that Kel Moore is very similar to AND has a lot of MAX HUDGHTON in him!!!

Thats like praise and a slap at the same time.

The high profile failures of Tambling and JON (Greg didn't even pick JON) coupled with Richmond's ladder positions have meant that Greg Miller's work has been a little unappreciated.

Kelvin Moore off the rookie list?

Nathan Foley?!

Will Thursfield?!!!

Sure, Greg could have picked Buddy.

But in hindsight his late picks have been superb - and that is usually the difference between 4th and 1st.

have played basketball against kel. dunked on our heads.. no real skill with the round ball just attacked the ring. big athlete

It is not just Kel Moore who deserves recognition. The chemistry in our defence between McGuane, Thursfield and Kel Moore deserves recognition. Kel Moore is a good player but the support and team work between these three players in our defence can not be understated.

Not really Hudghton is pretty highly rated in footy circles, shit, he's a 200game player isnt he...

The other two have the real hunger at ea and every contest in the back half, as does Moore, his advantage is a little more finesse with use of the pill, decisions and nice reliable set of mits. :thumbsu:...It was his mark deep in defence in last minute v the Lions that spring boarded our last foray forward

Except Greg Miller didn't select Kel, you'll have to praise Greg Beck for that one.

Harking back to a comment from Bo and Iddy after the Melbourne game where you guys made a comment to say that Moore, McGuane and Thursfield will create a backline that will be our cornerstone for the next decade. I can but nod in agreement.
