IMO it's great to see Kenny back in the team this week.

I was thinking about his selection last night and it amazes me that he has only got an opportunity this year through injury. It was only back in 2003 that Kenny was being touted as the All Australian CHB by Mick Malthouse, yet here he is playing his first game for us since August last year.

Have we mismanaged Kenny by playing him out of position, or has the game changed so that he is less influential?

As I stated on another thread, his 2005 was very good for us - top 10 in our B+F, career high in lots of categories, and played the 2nd half of the year as a forward.

He can play up there.

Neither in my opinion Fergus.

Kenny had a great 2005, starting off as a CHB but spending most of the year as a forward. So he's shown that he was capable of playing both ends of the ground. He was excellent in the 3 finals that year kicking 9 goals in the 3 games.

Last year blind Freddie could see that he was playing under an injury handicap and performed well below his best - but we didn't really have an alternative to play his role to give him the rest that he needed to get his achilles right. Having said that he still did provide a contest up forward and I still believe we might well have played in the GF if Kenny had played in the prelim.

His start this year was marred when the achilles problem flared up again. Unfortunately this meant that he has had to wait for something like the Perrie injury to happen to get back into the side.

I'd be very surprised if now that he gets his chance that he won't be back permanently, because he IS our best contested mark up forward.

All the best to Kenny for Sunday - hope he plays a bottler!! :thumbsu:

Well put Macca23 you only had to compare his games from 05 t0 06 to know Kenny wasn't right especially both his marking & kicking,in form he is the No.1 pack mark that we have & can kick goals from outside the ark.
Go Kenny hope you have a beauty on Sunday, we need you.
