2004 was a bit of a consolidation year for him in that he didn't continue on the exponential improvement curve of the previous few years, but nor did he really slip back. His first half of the season was just so-so, hampered first by a knee injury and then by rib problems which meant he didn't really train for the first couple of months.
Got into his stride in the second half of the year and played some pretty good football. Managed to finish top 10 in the club championship awards for the second consecutive season.
One of the classiest players at the Swans - his long kicking puts some of his more experienced team mates to shame - and he has noticeably improved in his weaker areas, like tackling and over head marking. His trademark play is to drift up the wing (he generally plays on the half-back flank), gather the ball in the midfield, burn off a chasing opponent and then let leash a kick at goal from 50 or so metres out. He usually nails them too!
