Kennelly was ****e in the IR. Ireland should have played him out around the middle of the field. Where does he play for Sydney? He is used to this game and would have been much more use out the field where he could tackle more effectively, he is the 1 irish player who is used of the tackle and ireland play him in a position where there isn't a great deal of tackling to be done. terrible decision but he still should have had more of an influence on the team.

Tadhg has been playing on a wing for us - suits his pace I guess. He was tried in defence early in his career, but I still think he's more of an attacking midfielder. For someone only playing the game a few years, he has picked up the rules well and even tackles pretty solidly and never gives up.

Still has trouble reading the play and can go missing, but that's only to be expected. I think he has been carrying an injury this whole series that he picked up in a Gaelic game a few weeks ago? u-21 final or something?

Where was he played in the 2 IR matches? I didn't get around to taping either of them.

He was pretty good in the first test but I agree he didn't have that much impact in the second one. It could have been because he was carrying an injury but also the conditions - ie very wet and greasy - probably didn't suit him that much. Plus he seemed to spend the whole of the second test as a stay at home forward which isn't where you'd expect him to have most impact. Again, it may have been due to his ankle problems.

He created a contest up there which is what he may have been asked to do - so maybe he did do his job. Who knows. In any case, no-one plays well all the time so I don't think he can be condemned to the gallows just yet.

It was interesting to see the AFL site list him as one of Ireland's best even in the second test. Me thinks they couldn't remember the names of many of the other Irish!

yeah, he was playing in an u-21 semi final for kerry alright. he played corner forward(dunno wot ye call it) for ireland in the IR

He injured his ankle in that game we heard.

Certainly for Sydney he has been played in the midfield where (as Des said) his pace is a major asset. He has also mastered the oval ball exceptionally well, to the point where he is one of the best kicks in the Sydney team (maybe doesn't say much for the rest of the team who have been playing with it for yonks!)

I remember him being far more mobile and attacking last year, and even in the first test he got more involved, so I suspect it was due to his ankle that he was down in the pocket (that's what we call it).
