These two are quickly forming the best rebounding halfback duo of recent years. What an exciting combo to watch!

Malceski would be near the top of the B&F atm, perhaps just behind ROK.

Undoubtedly. An enormous strength for the Swans that will be looked at very closely by opposition coaches in future weeks.

looking beyond this season; lets just hope tig will stay a swan & not travel back home. he's become a real asset to the team.

It is - and made harder for opposition coaches to counter in that B2, Leo and Dempster are more than capable of going for a dash themselves as well. Move one of the Kenneski's opponents to the goal square to get them out of the play and you'll inevitably land up with B2's opponent further up the ground, thus releasing him to be damaging as well.

Kennelly's been one of my favourite players for a while, but I am now finding it increasingly hard to stop drooling every time the ball leaves Malceski's boot.

Totally agree. We are good with one or the other in the side. But when they work together...goosebumps!!!!!!

Yep - our rebounding backline is probably at its best ever. The main vulnerability continues to be its defensive ability against big forwards and if the midfield doesn't exert enough pressure.

We won that game because of our forward pressure. Port had no run at all, and were really all at sea from halfdback. Definitely the way we'll have to play the doggies this round, too.

When I saw that passage in the first where first Magic, then Goodes effected tackles leading to a set shot and goal I just knew we were on!

Yeah - forward line pressure was great for the most part. Lots of tackling and slowing down Port's rebound giving us time to set up defensive positions.

Tell me about it. Nearlly everytime he gets the ball I will turn to someone, or think, damn he is a good player. Everytime he has the ball you know he will make the right decision.

Unbelieveable for a guy with 30 games experience to his name. Absolute gun that is completely underrated by everyone outside the Swans.

I might steal the title of this thread when I talk about Mal now. Kenneski says it all really (and it's a bit of a mouthful saying "future captain of the club coming through" :D )

I really think the backline as a whole has been fantastic this season. I really think the main reason is that Craig Bolton is now playing on the number one defender. This frees up Leo to go running out of defence. So basically, there's three fantastic rebound defenders in Leo, Kennelly and Malceski. You can't tag em all, so Malceksi is reaping the benefits at the moment. And if they start trying to tag him, they'll just leave one of the others open.

I don't think Bolton has yet to play on an opponent that would have been taken by Leo in the past. Bolton's opponents have all been LRT-opponents. It is not so much Bolton playing on the opposition no 1 as him playing on the CHF types. Note that Leo took Gehrig and Tredrea.

So whatever the reason for the backline playing pretty well so far (which I agree it has) it can't be that Bolton is freeing up Leo by taking his past opponents.

I would say that Tadgh has become close to our MVP and he his brilliantly supported by Malceski who has been one of the most improved players in comp this year. Just need the Midfield to get going and we will be back on track to play the eagles in the granny again

Our most exciting Football has always been when we have attacked from Half Back, as long as our Midfield stay solid.

Its good to see us playing exciting football again
