Heard the old "come back KB" plea again today. As someone who has watched the tigers since 1972 i saw most of his career and was his greatest fan BUT ....

I am just sick of his sooky carry on. He got paid for every game he played and every game he coached. I even remember the back page headline in the The Sun "Bartlett walks out" - when he was heading to Collingwood over a money dispute (in his playing days).

Not sure how much truth there was in it but at least it showed that he was not adverse to stirring the pot to get his own way.

What does every else think about his stand off - isn't it getting boring and making him look silly ?

I think it's possible to hold two positions on Bartlett. Of course his position is just plain childish and silly, and who wouldn't have tired of it by now? Sometimes it is a greater man that buries the hatchet than holds his word forever.
But then again, he is a major part of our rich history and we don't have nearly enough true Richmond people around the club. I for one would love to see him back at Richmond in some capacity, and some genuine healing happen at Tigerland, so that ALL of our former greats are genuinely welcome at any time. We have been very good at creating disaffected players in recent years, and I'd like to see that situation reversed, starting with KB.
But unfortunately I can't see it happening.

Like others there are two sides to this arguement.

KB is a Richmond icon and legend. He is part of our history and helped create that history.

Like most Tigers supporter I admired KB immensely, but surely even KB must realise that when things are not going well the coach is always the first in line at the old chopping block. That is what comes with coaching. I know we have a history of sacking the coach, but it is a fact of life at every AFL club and will always be the way things are.

It is time to move on. Get over it KB. You weren't the first icon to be sacked as a coach and you won't be the last.

Would love to see you back in the Yellow and Black......where you belong.......

my 2 cents

as issues go...it's got off season written all over it...

for what it's worth I couldn't care less whether KB hung round Punt Rd or not...

more interested in Ben Hollands Knee.

Can't condone his stubborn stance but have to agree with Dean 3 on his comments.

Maybe if we good sheedy back he might come?

From what I can make out, KB has got over the whole "Board" thing that originally caused all the drama. The reason he has avoided Tigerland of late is that he is no longer interested in that aspect of football.

And seeing him at the footy with his young daughter during the season (a Tigers game, by the way), I could understand his stance. He's just enjoying the sport from a different angle. Why submit yourself, or regress to, the responsibilities of a footy club when you've broken away from it ...

Let's get on with life without KB, and cherish the memories Hungry has left with us in his time in the No.29 guernsey ...

Agree on this and I am sick of this issue being obsessed over in the mainstream media.

I have never heard Bartlett publicly bag the club about what happened when he was sacked. To my knowledge he has treated it as a private issue and left it at that. It seems that it's various other people who constantly obsess about it and make a public issue out of it.

I don't see that Bartlett has any obligation to go back to the club if he doesn't want to. He did his duty as an employee of the club as a player and coach and he was given the flick. I suspect bitterness over certain aspects of the sacking led to his not coming back... now maybe he feels that he's got plenty of other things to do in his life to dredge up the bitterness that a return may bring.

Let's just leave it at that.
