Since there are all these threads about players that haven't played this season was wondering how Kevin was coming along. Just interested to hear how he is playing the game and if he is adjusting to the game. Don't want any comparisons in terms of his development with marty as marty is one in a million and very few will develope like him no matter what mindset.

In a word, slowly.

Unfortunately Kevin received a serious injury recently and his season is finished.Apparently what was thought to be a hamstring strain turned out to be more serious. It is reported that the tendons were torn from the bone and he needed surgery to put them back. It's unfortunate for him as he was progressing well and it will be next season before any real judgements can be made.Hopefully he will make a full recovery.Good luck Kevin.

Hardly a fair quote as he was being played mainly in the back pocket to learn the game.Anyone who has seen Kevin play in Ireland will know that he is an exciting fast attacking half back and had just started playing in that position in the VFL when he got the injury.

Having seen every game he's played here, I think it is a fair quote. He's been struggling and his couple of mentions in the "bests" have been a bit fanciful. Naturally I don't know how he goes in the round ball game from first hand but he's obviously very good. That can't be said of his AFL game yet by a long way.

I think Dyas should be given at least two years before any real judgements can be made - ie lets wait until the 2010 season before we see what he has.

By the sounds of it, if he tore tendons from the bone, his preseason and even start to next year may be interrupted. Fingers crossed he can come good as I think he has great potential

Agreed. And just to be clear, I'm not potting him, just answering the enquiry truthfully.

I'm pretty optimistic about Dyas. Disappointing that he's out for the rest of the season. What he needs more than anything is to play as much footy as possible.
