How would you guys like to have playing for Melb, a KPF that is 196cm (6 months ago), 97 kg, 20 year old who can kick goals & give goal assists????.... He can also play down back if required....

Interested?????

Well his name is Trent Zomer

We have this kid on our rookie list & in my opinion he could be the perfect example of a player who will thrive on the opportunity to play at the highest level. What have we got to lose, he's on our list, so play him.....

I can't tell if you're being serious or otherwise.....

dead serious Cannon, he was picked up because of his size & obviously had enough ability to impress someone at melb....sometimes players play below their best at the lower levels & look like they can barely play at all, then when they are elevated they look like they just belong..... If we don't give this kid a run, we will never know.....

ZOMG was playing VFL reserves two games ago wasn't he?

Not since Isaac Weetra has anyone gone from the VFL magoos to the AFL in the space of a couple of weeks.

Radical I know, but the kid is a real good size... if our forward line consisted of 3 pairs of players & each of the small players told to be no further than 10m away from the other for the day...... one pair, positioned in goal square, the other two, 35m from goal, parallel with the line of the centre square....

The pairs are: Zomer / Davey
Miller / Jetta
Watts / Maric

Obviously the pairs don't have to just be those players, but you suddenly would have targets up forward for the mids to aim at or more the point, if the crap kicks enter forward 50 the little blokes will have an even money chance of gaining possession....

If they play one a kick behind play, simply man him up with our lose one.

Having someone to kick it to in foward area has been one of our biggest problems, my solution would keep tall targets with a swooper in their positions, not spend majority of time flooding...

Is there a mature aged recruit (up to 25) in a state league who we can target on the cheap for next year? Finishing last isn't much benefit next year so if there's somebody out there who has played senior football for a few years and kicks a few goals why not take a punt on them?

God knows if anyone fits the bill but what do you lose by taking somebody basically for free? Not f'ing much, and if you get two or three years out them then it's a bonus.

Untried but unproven. I'm talking about somebody who has booted 50 goals in a season.

I'm not saying Aaron Edwards is anything more than an average player, but I'd almost have him in our forward line at the moment it's so shit otherwise.
