sorry to post a negative thread, i was gonna do it a few weeks back after the crows game but i didnt. ratts and co really need to find a way to get the ball out of defence from kick ins. none of this chip to the person in the pocket crap. i was happy to see JR trying something slightly different in going long down the boundary to the ruckman, but more has to be done if we are to really stop conceding goals rom kickouts.

Matt I think that what we need to do is work on a variation of the old huddle where everyone gathers in the middle and then breaks for either boundary line and leaves 1 tall and a couple of crumbers at his feet and just go long out of the centre.

If Warnock can take his grabs instead of trying to bring them to ground then he would be an idea foil for this idea. Jacobs is a good target for this ploy as he can take a good contested mark.

Once it gets into the hands of the tall out on the 50m line in the corridor, they can dish off to a small running past at speed to take it further down the line.

If the opposition tries to counter this by leaving a number of players in the middle, then we have a number of loose players out on the flanks that we can work it to.

By chipping it around in the backline before bringing it out, we are putting ourselves under pressure and allow the opposition to form up a half field rolling zone.
