According to Glenn Archer, Kings manager, his season is over as a result of the foot injury and that his career may also be done with as the foot doesn't seem to be healing. King wants to go on next year but Archer isn't sure that his body will allow it and that King understands that this may be the end.

A herald sun fell on his foot?

Well at least Caro will be happy.

Sad if this is the end for push-up but even when fit unfortunately he isn't best 22 anymore. Best of luck for him going forward:thumbsu:

I'm glad you don't get to write on his retirement card!

A fit jake king right now would make our team so much better! SO, MUCH, BETTER!

I remember Kingy taking on Didak and an all in happened and the umpire awarded a free kick to that squib, Didak then tried to be a smartarse and take on the man on the mark but got caught and the gutless umpire called play on, that incident and non decision nearly caused a riot where I was standing such was the anger from tiger fans.

We won more games over the past couple of years when King was in the side.

2014: 1-1 with Kingy, 3-9 without
2013: 13-5 with Kingy, 2-3 without
2012: 7-5 with Kingy, 3-6-1 without
2011: 8-10-1 with Kingy, 0-3 without
2010: 6-10 with Kingy, 0-6 without

2008 is the only year we've been better without him in the side (3-10-1 with him, 8-0 without)

Under Dimma:

With Pushup: 35 wins, 31 losses, 2 draws
Without him: 8 wins, 22 losses

No wonder Dimma likes him so much.

Heard him speak in the 3121 about 5-6 weeks ago and he didn't paint a great picture.
His foot is ****** basically.
He was a much better player than I thought he ever would be.
If we are honest though Jakes been as good as finished since very early this season.
Great career relatively speaking.

Not in best 22? Current season's performance says hello.
Sorry but he is now a fringe player. He would be getting games if he was fit and everybody would be asking why he is getting picked week in week out, much like they do with Newman I guess.

Has been a great servant to our club but it's time to call it.

If this is the end I will miss the little chipmunk out on the ground with his head high and chest puffed out no matter what the situation, win, lose, draw, scrap .... Hasnt he had a coaching role whilst hes been injured? Could be good working with rookies ... Get him to teach banfield to play properly ...

Real pity. His agression, strength and footy smarts were great. Not the best for skills and overall talent. Btu he got his all form what he had. If some of our VFL players did that we'd be a lot better. Maybe should inject the essence of King into TV - woudl be a great player!

In the words of the great man Richie Benaud "not an impossible task, but pretty f****** close to it".

A guy who has got the most out of his football ability and always busted a gut. Will be sad if it is the end!
Now he needs to bust a nut for a little father son!
