Anyone who has spoken to King knows he will hang them up when the time comes, he's not one of these guys who has their whole existence wrapped up in footy, and he genuinely cares for the club .

He gave us fight when we had little of it in our side, so I hope people remember this when he do say goodbye

Shame if true - our senior players have generally struggled this season to stand up and losing Kingy would mean losing another senior player at the club. Maybe not in our absolute best 22 anymore but a player who played with a lot of passion and fight.

Over 100 games though, great effort for a guy with limited skills and talent. We also get any future push up juniors if he decides to go back to his plumbing and spray a few leaks here and there :p

HiH
According to Glenn Archer, Kings manager, his season is over as a result of the foot injury and that his career may also be done with as the foot doesn't seem to be healing. King wants to go on next year but Archer isn't sure that his body will allow it and that King understands that this may be the end.
his foot is fine it's his calf that will keep him out for the next few weeks. Hope we offer him a job as development coach for 2015 would be great role model for the young cubs

Yeah, really great thread! See ya king, ya not talented but thanks for the memories! what a shit thing for all of u to say!

He was talented, he made the afl, played over 100 games, we won more games with him in.

Jake was/is a talent and if injury is making him leave it's a shame, thanks for everything!

If it is the end, well done Kingy for getting the very best out of yourself! This injury will hopefully save him from being delisted (because he will retire).... if not; sadly I think he needs to be cut.

To be honest, even without the injury this year would/should have been the end anyway.

Has been a great servant to the club, always gives his all, flies the flag and actually played some pretty good footy at times. Kicked quite a few important goals and one of the only ones to apply genuine pressure. Will be missed.

Sorry but he is now a fringe player. He would be getting games if he was fit and everybody would be asking why he is getting picked week in week out, much like they do with Newman I guess.

Has been a great servant to our club but it's time to call it.

Disagree, big time.

Our only other decent small forward (S.Edwards) has to be played in the midfield because he's (unfortunately) our best clearance player.

We literally don't have a proper small forward... King is a walk up start, when fit.

Proved that you don't have to be an elite kid going through the system. He did the hard yards with North Heidelberg and then Coburg. Terrific attitude and the fiercest competitor in just about any Richmond side that I've seen. Reminds me a lot of Terry Smith. That Collingwood game was simply unbelievable. He beat up on didak, and then had no trouble when the Collingwood players targeted him which started the melee. When done, King had his jumped basically ripped apart, half the Collingwood side were still getting up of the ground and King had the biggest smile on his face. On his way to the bench, he went looking for Didak again. But Didak was hiding in the dugout.

He will be missed. I hope people remember him for his journey and an example of playing above your ability with the hard work and determination.

Since when is S.Edwards a better clearance player than Cotchin? :drunk:
