That was always on the cards, but really, the NBA's suspension of Webber is but a gesture and little more.

Webber is of much more value to the league on the court. His suspension will be the finalization of his rehab and then he'll be back right at the time he is ready to re-commence playing.

Be interesting to see if he becomes second option now, given Peja's form

The question I have is why is the league suspending him in the first place. If that is the case why don't they suspenend just about half of the league for DUI (both drugs and alcohol) not paying their child support and players such as Eddie Griffin are still free to play (ohh excpet that he is currently in jail or just released)

It smacks of double standard. If he was to be suspended he should have been suspended at the begining of the year and suspension should have been applied from day on, ie whilst still on injured list. The fact that he is injured should not have an effect on when he serves his suspension.

He would have to surely.

He hasn't played for ages and the team is travelling very well without him. Peja is having a career year and why change things that are working very well so far.

Why?

Because Webber is a career 22/10 player whom the kings have outlayed an enormous amount of cash for.

He has also been known to be rather petulant when not handled with kid gloves.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a big Chris Webber fan by any stretch, but he is a big man with excellent passing skills and more often than not, has the Kings offence run through him. Brad Miller has filled in admirably, even notching a couple of triple doubles, but there is no doubt in my mind that the Kings are better with Webber in the low blocks than they are with Miller.

I just find it interesting to see whether or not this throws off the chemistry somewhat

So what!!!!!!
Its a team game and if he doen't like it tough. If he wants to get his ego inflated by being the #1 option and get hiss 22/10 at the expense of whats more beneficial to the team, then he should be shown the door:p

That wouldn't be a good example for a captain to set. Divac and Miller have been doing fantastic job.

absolutly reeks of double standards.

Webber might as well wear a Port Power jersey out to the playoffs, if you can pick up what I'm putting down. If Peja isn't #1 option in the finals, Sactown will just be re-writing history.
