Do you think he could have made a differernce. Kingy seems to have a better presence then our man Blake

In the GDL rankings Blake is last.
He didn't have a great game, 10 hit outs...
But who knows? King might have done worse than Blakey.

Watching Kingy in the 2's today. Played very well around the ground. Also won the hitouts convincingly. At the 3 quarter time huddle he was very vocal and focussed. Lead like a former captain should. Will be tough this week for Bomber not to choose him.

King > Blake

Watch Blake's second efforts around the stopages, if you can find a second effort that it is... King does what Ottens does and goes to ground to keep the ball tied up if we dont get advantage. Blake stands around watching things happen.

In the finals, King will be more valuable than Blake. It's tough for Blake, because he as been good through the year, but experience is what we will need and King has it. Looks like Bomber wants King back too, through limiting Blakes time on the field, he almost gave himself an excuse to drop Blake.

pretty amusing to see how quick the tide turns...

Blake is going to be the better option in 2-3 years onwards - King, if fully fit, is still the better option for these finals.

conversation over.

l read in the geelong addy a few weeks a go that sum players inc s king had to play so many games in the vfl to be able to play in both finals l'm sure that king had one more in vlf to play so he could play in both finals

kings last few weeks have'nt been great back in the AFL side blake was not the only player to have a poor game geelong seemed to the hunted not the hunter on the weekend but king prob wood have been better an playfair

Blakey did absolutely nothing. Ottens kept us in it. Bring Kingy back to have a go against Charman.

he hasnt played in 2 any footy in two weeks, his confidence probably got a lil hit from being dropped for king. give the guy a chance, it is not like his last name is playfair.

Blake was regularly edged out - often illegally - one free kick for it - but that is the skill of the good ruckmnen to play on that risk-edge. He is OK - I just fear that King is past it and though more experienced in dealing with others in those contests, that he'll not see out the game. He's not the problem - it seemed to me that Port (and other sides') small men get the centre clearances too often. When we get them we're off like a rocket - when we don't, we struggle to regain possession. So King/Blake 50/50
Looking back at this it doesn't say much!!!

Or was it a test for Blake to compete against a finals ruck duo? If King plays well this week (in the VFL or AFL) and Blake struggles then they have to pick King on his track records in finals.

I previously had the view that Blake should get the spot ahead of King, however against Lade and Brogan Blake was to easily brushed aside. King at least would have matched the physicality of these two.

Horses for courses, King against Port Adelaide in any final. Against other opposition Blake maybe more suitable.
