The decision by Knight's to make last Friday his last game may have left the club with the one thing it surely was lacking and couldn't seem to find - the spark required to get the players playing again.
I don't know what Spud said at half time but is was surely along the lines of WTF are you doing out there? Is this how you honour one of your greatest players?.
What we saw was a team that came out and really started playing football again. We tackled, chased, bumped, crashed and for once, played some attacking football.
None of this holding onto the ball waiting for the perfectly safe option to present, we dared to hit a target with an element of risk about it. We looked a hell of a lot better for it.
Maybe the players have rediscovered the fact that they know how to play again!
