It was great to see him go for marks and get possessions. He took some great marks today and had a few touches. He is pretty quick and athletic and chases hard. Previous games he panicked when he had a chance to pick the ball up off the ground or go for a mark. It was a confidence thing, which he must have worked on during the week at training. Today proved that it isn't hard to take a mark or pick the ball up and set up play and this confidence could make him the player we hoped would replace Ottens. He is the same height and pretty much the same weight as Ottens. He has a nice long kick and can probably jump higher than Ottens and can match him for speed. If he keeps going in like he did today, he will be valuable around the ground. He also made a great dive on the wing to stop a freo player from picking up the ball in the last quarter. Pretty desperate play and alot of mobility for his height.

Was a good game from him, he put in a big effort last week and it was pleasing to see it wasn't a one-off. I've been impressed by his defensive pressure, always runs hard to try and tackle the opposition. If he performs at that level every week we will do well.

yeah and the strong marks he took all over the ground were brendan gale like. The highlight was the sprint to loose ball on the wing and the freo player was 10m closer and coming from a different direction. The freo player should have picked it up but Knobel dived at full pace took the ball from under the freo player and handballed it to a team mate. Confidence brought out his talent today and hopefully it's a turning point in his career to be laballed a talented tall man instead of just a good tap ruckman

Knobels steady improvement has limited Symonds time in the ruck which is a pity . Cant really complain though, hes doing the job.

Guernsey was ripped so he had to change.

On Knobel though, he was terrific, died out in the last half but he was very good taking marks and getting some good possessions around the ground. Simmonds and Stafford were also much better today and it really helped the side. Next week those 3 and Richo will have to step up again because the Saints are missing a lot of talls.

knobel only played about 2/3 of the game. Spent a while on the bench while Staff was in the ruck.
