No bites in the draft, obviously clubs don't want to take a punt with his pending court case in W.A.,his career over.

So much for frawdleys prediction "he's gonna be a little rippa" :thumbsu:

That pretty much ended he's career.

If I could actually play footy and a buffoon like that ******** was a wrap for me I would just quit because its a sure sign that you're useless at a high level

unfortunately Andrew didn't make the most of his chance, he has ability - but you cant go missing in games like he used to - a real waste of a talent in my eyes.

he may still get a look in through the PSD - freo and essendon could be a real roughy

He did play over 100 games......

Very good point. Although I don't agree with much he says, Frawley was right when he said Krak was playing a decade too late. Every time they played in the wet, Krak was sensational. And don't question his work ethic, he was the best tackler at our club from the time he walked thru the door. His forward pressure was better than anyone at the club. Has anyone actually contemplated that he maybe just wasn't as good as we all hoped he would be.

I certainly don't agree that he was a wasted mega-talent. Complete opposite really. A guy with no stamina, a tiny body, and questionable ability who made himself a 100 gamer largely based on tackling and the occasional goal assist.

I'd put him in the category of blokes who made quite a bit out of very little - he's in the Howat, Goodwin, Chaffey camp for mine.

krak had more talent in his thumb than all those guys put together

he never had the pace but if he actually tried to get his body right and build some fitness he would of acheived much more

was treated like a baby as soon as he arrived and no one told him he had to work for it

bang on, beautiful hands, was a very skilful player who could have achieved a lot more but had a shocking fitness base with little will to try and rectify it

agreed, If I put a highlights reel together of Krak Id have anyone believe he was a superstar...pity was they were so damn far apart. Regrettably he was not blessed with the tools to be an elite small man in this great game...pace out of the blocks and stamina where two gifts that krak missed the boat on...sorry story unfortunately

You'd have to ask the fitness advisors and fellow teamates I suppose. Some people are all fast twitch . Yes, endurance can be worked on but it's a fact that some no matter what will never have good endurance.

Not saying that this is necessarily the case but it could be. That's what I love about the game , you need a variety of skills and if you are too deficient in one then this can be exposed.

Please. please put this highlight reel together - I am sad to see Krak go, because I love to see special players - yes, he did not contribute enough, and the club will be better off with someone else - but as a spectator, I reckon I will remember highlights of Krak a lot more fondly than say Mervyn Keane, Darren Gaspar or Wayne Campbell - all of whom were infinitely better players.

A few times a season (and only a few times - that was the problem) - Krak would do something that
other players could not do - he defines the expression 'ghosting' for me. Hands, balance, control - he had it all.

Slag off his fitness and level of contributions - but don't miss the quality of those contributions.

surely any player who doesn't reach their peak because they had no stamina and a tiny body - would have to be a wasted talent. I mean, stamina and body mass is one of the easier things to improve on in professional sport.

i don't think it was a matter of "questionable ability" - as he could play extremely well in spurts - it was more his questionable work rate, stamina and concentration which let him down - all things which can be worked on in training and extra sessions

Surely thats not Simon Goodwin?

Easier to improve than other areas but not a given. No amount of distance training will make Asafa Powell a top notch marathon runner. He will improve his endurance but probably won't be elite.

I remember Bruce Reid saying that he did more weights than anyone he knows and still didn't put on body mass. I'm not saying that Krak did everything he could, like almost everyone I wouldn't know but sometimes if you aint got it , you aint got it.

Krak was a 12 possession, 1 game a goal player and he maintained that level throughout his career (apart from his last season). Because he reached his level fairly early, and because he could do some tantalising things, people thought he was going to take another step but he never did. Not because he was lazy or any other reason, simply because he had already reached his peak. Maybe he would have done a bit more back in the days of the old fashioned full forward that brought the ball down to his feet for crumbers to swoop on. But the days of specialist crumber pockets are just about over, unless you have serious talent like a Nathan Brown or Mark Williams. Unless you have a few other strings to your bow, just being a crumbing pocket is barely enough. Even some of the better ones like Farmer, Milne, Schneider get shopped around from year to year come trade time. Krak did well to forge a 100 game career with the talent he had. I think he had a serviceable career with us (certainly better than many others who played throughout the 90,s and early 00's) but it was time to move on. Thanks and good luck Krak.:thumbsu:

Well said Crum. :thumbsu:

The Krak Bashers ***** me off.

That guy did so much for the credibility of the RFC in terms of Indigenous recognition and engagement, that the Tigers will be thanking him in future for the work he did in making our club more accommodating to Aboriginal players.

Dreamtime at the G is very important to the club both for revenue and social obligation, so the grounding that Krak's mere presence at Punt Rd will pay for itself in the future.

At least some of us will miss you, Mate.

I'd agree with all that Crum, and as you imply, his biggest downfall was that he was such a liability as a marking target. On the lead he got overtaken and overpowered, in a contest he was always dwarfed and outmarked. These days, specialist small forwards need to be at least competitive in those areas, or freakish crumbers in sides that can better afford the luxury of playing them.
