It is time to move Kruezer up forward and take a punt by bringing in one of Jacobs or Warnock. We were again too predictable going forward and at times Adelaide were playing two players on Fev and then that hurt us the other way as we were out numbered in the forward 50.

Granted Betts and Garlett were missed today but we need another target if we are to do any damage. I will bring up the point though that this could back fire if the move was made as changing our structure in the finals could impact in a bad way or a good way.

Should we make the move or is it too risky to make the decision in the first week of the finals?

I don't think Kruezer is a CHF. He's closer to a ruck-rover than a CHF. I don't think he's quick enough to play the position, and we'd miss his play-making around the ground. Setanta is the best option we have for that position. I'd play Wiggins up front in the lead-up role, or I wouldn't play him at all. He's no defender, and that should be obvious by now.

I'd be more inclined to play Hampson back on the Tippet/Clark like forwards. Even Carlos struggled on Tippet for height.

Something needs to be done to shore up the defence when opposition teams play a third tall. Let's pray that Merrett and Bradshaw don't get up, but I bet they will.

If Aussie doesn't get up for the final, then we must bring up Jacobs/Warnock and try to engineer our own mismatch. It's not my first, or even second choice but, to paraphrase someone, you go to a final with the team you have, not the team you want.

Kreuzer looks so bloody tired these days. He isn't showing the natural enthusiasim and agility of last year. We can't keep playing him in the ruck.

Give him 22 games next year at CHF to give his body a rest.

Re: Kreuzer to CHF

I don't know about CHF, but at least plonk him forward somewhere. He's almost dead on his feet these days. It's plain to see.

When he is fully up and running and has that old "spring" in his step again, he can probably play anywhere, but ATM I think he should go forward.

I really don't think that both of them would have made much difference to the overall game. Kruezer needs to be placed at CHF with Hampson and Warnock/Hampson rucking.

Agreed. He's a decent mark but not quick enough on the lead, and i don't think he can bang goals consistently from 50-55m like a true CHF should.

Waite is the perfect CHF if you ask me. i long for the days of seeing him and Fev up forward, but our backline is just too fragile for that to happen.

Is Warnock fit?

If he can come in next week it would add a new dimension to the side. I'd have Kreuzer deep forward and Fev as the leading option out of the square.

Don't think Kruezer is a CHF, is he able to hit the wing and lead like Riewoldt? Don't think he has the pace for that. With his height he'd be more dangerous as another target inside 50.

I think we are a Robert Murphy like player away from having a MUCH improved forward structure. Someone that doesn't really have to kick goals but to provide a target on the wings and across half forward. Someone that can provide a link between the midfield/defense and the forward line. A work horse that doesn't have to be a super player, Cloke showed a bit late last year doing this type of work but just hasn't improved.

FWIW i still think Kruezer is most effective around the ground. Would like to see him up forward a little more but you can't loose his competitiveness around the ground.

I would prefer him to play deeper inside 50 rather than a lead up role. He would provide a much needed target inside 50 and would draw a decent defender.

agree with what most people are saying, play him deep in the foward line. he is a strong mark and will get a good defender. this will give fev a bit of space to lead into. throw betts/garlett and setant down there, should be a pretty strong mix. he's good but doesn't have enough pace to play chf.

Like the idea long term, i.e Warnock & Hammo in the ruck with Kruz CHF, however don't want to try it now

Warnock hasn't played a game this year and asking him to play a final for his first game is a massive risk - from all reports was good in the Bullants today but jumping from the Bullants to a final would be huge. Also, Kruz hasn't spent any time up forward as a permanent forward so that is also a risk. Think Kruz needs to be "tested" as a permanent forward for a few games first, and that doesn't mean finals games.
