How good is this guy! I just watched a reply of the Hawthorne game and this kid had a ripper. He really did some things that prove why he was number 1 pick.

He will be a 10 year CHF for us. Why do I think this and not ruck?

What I noticed from the weekends game was his ability to lead stongly to the ball around the half forward line, gather the ball around his ankles and then offload quickly and cleanlyto running mids.

God I'm excited about this guy

I'm going to have to swallow my pride here a bit, but the prospects of him becoming a mobile 200cm CHF are becoming less debatable IMO.....probably more mobile then Josh, reads the game better, at least equal the tank, will be as physical, better below his knees.....don't see which box he doesn't tick.

Having the big man as a goal-kicking and fast running ruckman will be much more valuable to us than a traditional CHF. Sides with a ruckman which can also apply pressure in the midfield and on the score are usually pretty well off. Look at bix Coxy - imagine a clone of him that also kicks 2 a match! That will be Kruezer if we play our cards right.

That's what they'll say when Kreuzer takes his time to his straps because he'll take longer to develop than a Cotchin, Myers and Masten. Kreuzer is showing as much as Leuenberger did last year, even if it's by winning the ball at ground level and not winning the hit out. It takes a special talent to snap a goal on their wrong foot from forty metres when they're a big man and under pressure.

You betcha and his vision is brilliant too. Special K could very well end up being a Kernahanesque KPF with a tank Cox or Richo would be happy with. We've done good! ;):thumbsu:
 
I must say he seems to have great problem solving skills ie decision making under pressure. This is an area which I think we are in desperate need to fix as there are many players on the list who seem unable to make the correct choice when under the pump!

Saw another of his left foot kicks today at training - hit the player on the chest. :) Was only one kick, but that's twice I've seen him use his left very well - not too many ruckmen are all that good on their preferred, let alone their non-preferred.

On another note, moreso to those who have seen him as a junior (HBF, Gilly, TGR) - does he have the potential to play a similar position to Kosi up forward (strong marking forward at the top of the square, as opposed to a lead up forward ala Fev?) Just looking at him go at a few marking contests on the weekend, even though he didn't hold down the marks, I had vibes of Kosi going through my head. If he can develop into a good forward, it'll make him that much more valuable as a ruckman who can rest up forward and kick a couple.
 
Most of the time he spent up forward at TAC he tended to play more as a stay at home forward, so the answer would be yes. The thing with Kreuz is he seems to have an innate ability to hold his ground in the contest and his his hips and body to hold the defender at bay, I suspect this is why he has already had some success rucking in the F50 boundary line throw ins in the practice games so far, for a first year ruckman he is already hard to push off the ball. His vertical standing leap isn't outstanding but he has a huge wingspan and excellent judgment of the ball in flight, so like his ruckwork he will often mark the ball at a height that makes it difficult for a defender to spoil from behind.
 
Top-shelf talent, future superstar. A unique ruck talent. Everyone mentions it, but his work at ground level is truely exceptional. He plays like a true oversized midfielder, frequently involved in clearance work from congestion. Natural footy smarts, brilliant awareness and focus. Understands how the play unfolds, and anticipates where his opponent will run to. You often see him chase spoil, and then do a follow up block, to prevent his opponent getting involved in the play again. This guy is not only an exceptional athlete, but a natural footballer. Hampson and Kruezer will be the best ruck combo in the AFL. :)

If he plays like a Simon Madden (Essendon) he will be a good forward dimension. Used alot in the forward and ruck occassionally.
