Tomic deservedly gets a lot of flak for tanking, but rankings don't lie - hes 26th in the world and will be even higher after the French Open. Say what you want but hes a very good player.

Kygrios no doubt has a massive amount of talent but will his rise be impeded by his lack of temperament?

Who would you root for in a Kyrgios v Tomic showdown?

What would be your score prediction?

I think Tomic cops a lot of undeserved flak, he's had a very consistent year winning at least a few matches at every tournament with only a few surprise losses on clay his weakest surface. I would probably go for Kyrgios just, but I'm happy to see Bernard coming back and making something of himself.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but when he isn't tanking, I actually really like Tomic's unusual style of play. Just feeding off the opponent's pace and counter punching, mixing up his own pace and spin. It looks lazy but it takes a lot of skill to play like this, yet alone win matches and tournaments to get in the top 30.

Kyrgios, well that serve and forehand is incredible, and he's clutch. But he gets upset at the smallest thing and grows a massive head dick erection so easily over nothing. It cant be good for his game in the long term surely.

Agreed on the first part, I really like Tomic's unique style of play. Went to Tomic Kohlschreiber at the Australian Open was a really fun match to watch.

I don't know if Tomic has the killer instinct to do what the other two of capable of. Kokk just doesn't give up, two GS in a row he's been looking down the barrel (Gulbis at AO and Tomic last night) and pulled out the win. Thought he was quite restrained last night too in comparison to previous matches.

And Davis Cup too!

Imagine if Tomic or Kyrgios tripped up and stabbed themselves with a racket like Kokk did...Both would have withdrawn. Tomic would have just tanked and retired as soon as he lost his serve. Kyrgios would have launched a massive tirade against the umpire and officials about the state of the court, snapped a few rackets and stormed off.

With Tomic I think a lot of people forget that he had hip surgery last year. Now he's getting cortisone shots for his back.

So he's obviously playing in pain, but that will get overlooked as well since the consensus is that he's soft, a tanker, etc.

Surprised his has only lost 2 five setters in his career too

Tanking games combined with the off court stuff has hurt the perception of Tomic. He is actually a pretty clutch player when we wants to be. Good tie break record, good 5 set record, good Davis Cup record. I think ultimately though he hit his ceiling pretty quickly. Is he genuinely capable of winning a grand slam? Maybe Wimbledon with a Cilic US Open style run of form but I just don't see it elsewhere.

Everyday Im hating Kyrgios more and more. Such a polarizing figure. His attitude is an embarrassment to Australian sport. Great talent. But a magnificent f***head.

Didn't see his game vs Murray can you give us a short recap.

Ball hit out of the stadium, bouncing his racket of the court, ranting out load how he hates the place and didnt want to be there, telling his box to book his airfares - just normal Kyrgios bullshit

Sick of his FIGJAM attitude. The guy is a knob.

Sadly I'm coming around to this way of thinking as well, huge talent but never seen such immaturity on a tennis court, and that's saying something!
