Anyone out there go for these guys? I grew up loving the Motor City Bad Boys in the day, but when it came to the playoff series against the Rockets in the 90's when Ron Harper, Danny Manning took it to them I loved it.

Not many people would probably like them with good reason, if you start following the NBA its easier to start off with a team thats more pop - does anyone rate their chances this year ?

- Camby and Kaman with Baron Davis filling the point. Not to mention Gordon and Mobley at SG , Thorton taking Magette's place... obvious no one can replace Brand (dammit) .. Its an awesome interior defence and rebounding team surely

In any case I'm off to see em play the Magic in December before heading home - cant wait

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the Clips but I can't see the new line up doing anything big. Losing Brand was a huge, huge blow for the franchise. They were unlucky with injury last year, had they held onto Brand I think the team may have stuck together a bit more and gone forward. Now it seems a bit of a mish-mash.

I can't believe these third-rate losers have managed to survive in LA for 25 years, they should be shipped off to Seattle. LA is Lakertown, has been for almost 50 years and always will be.

Actually it would be a win for Seattle, they shipped off a train wreck to Oklahoma, and in return receive a pretty good line-up that is a genuine chance of making the playoff's.

Except for the part where they lose a future MVP, sure.

Been a Clips fan since the Danny Manning days. I think I'm the only one on Big Footy. :o

Anyway, if they can all click they could have a good season but for me personally the team has lost a little bit of soul with Brand, Maggette and Livingston all gone. They have been the heartbeat (with Kaman) of the team the last 2-3 seasons.

I just get the feeling that Baron and Camby are there marking time but hopefully they can prove me wrong.

Nothing like a opening game pounding to kick off a season... No Camby which is a sign of things to come maybe.

They'll need a few games to mesh I believe I'd like to see how they go when Camby and Kaman are working the middle and surrounded by Thornton, Davis (Baron) and hopefully Gordon's jumper can kick in - (optimisitic)

Lakers looking like Liverpool's start to the season - can't go wrong

But it will

I'm sorry, the clips will be in the basement of the west yet again

I have never trusted this franchise since the 2004 draft when they traded down two spots to avoid Okafor to get Livingston

In hindsight, not a bad move.

Okafor is decidedly average, and Livingston we'll never know.

If you took Okafor you could've placed Brand or Kaman on the trading block and got something, now you have: no Brand, no Livingston, no future

I'm not sure I follow.

They lost Brand because they decided to low-ball him and clearly didn't treat him the right way. The guy has a business in LA - he obviously had a clear reason for leaving.

And you can hardly blame Livingston's freak injury on Clipper management.

The (much) bigger stuff-up was Yaroslav Korolev at 8 - I remember DraftExpress were literally dumbfounded when they found out the Clippers had made a promise to him.

Owolakandi was a bigger blunder

I will always remember when the nuggets took nikoloz tskitishvili over Amare (although at the time I wanted Caron)...

Lucky for all us we gave away all our first round picks to New Jersey for an over the hill k-mart then gave the remaining first rounders to the sixers for a now departed Iverson so we can't make any more similar picks.
