Hope we dont play hawks in grand final

I mean we would win and all, but another week of build up with those idiot fans would be frustrating

I just worry if it did happen how Buddy would handle playing in a GF against his old side having won a flag with them the year before, hope the occasion doesn't get to him like Barry Hall in '06.

Buddy was born for the big stage

Very true, but I can't help being a little nervous thinking about it, it'd be a pretty intense build-up if it happened. How sweet would it be if we managed to pull it off though, would certainly silence the doubters. Just can't believe we could win a third flag in a decade after all this club has gone through, it still feels surreal.

We just gotta win, no one else will stop hawthorn and if they win again i will have to leave

Freo has a big chance to upset the ladder leader this week. It is likely to lose two in a row with a combination of trip to WA, 6 days break and nemesis Geelong.

Swans and Cats win 3 streak. Last year champion drop to third but will overcome Cats in week 1 and we beat Freo at ANZ.

Well.. With that Hawthorn loss looks like we'll probably play Freo @ ANZ, unless we lose to Richmond in the last round and finish 2nd - which honestly wouldn't be so bad considering how poor Geelong are interstate. Only issue is you don't want to flirt with form so close to finals.

if Geelong can beat Hawks this week, we may play Hawks if lose to Richmond. That's the worst scenario.

We'll definitely be playing on the Saturday night in the first week of the finals, right? As we play on the Saturday the week before.
If we finish top of the ladder, we should play Friday night. There is no nrl game either Friday or Saturday at ANZ that week.

As long as if we finish top and win week 1 we get a friday prelim

Cant have first hosting a saturday prelim ffs

Why would we get a six day break after finishing first? I'm talking about the first week of the finals here.

My birthday is on the Friday and I'm trying to work out when we're playing so I can plan things around it.

Have you considered moving your birthday for the year? :D

I think my ideal match up is Geelong followed by Port, Freo, Hawthorn.

Rd 23 has Port vs. Freo & Sydney vs. Richmond both on Saturday. So no reason why we wouldn't play Friday at ANZ unless NRL conflicts, assuming we finish first.

It's been a little while since a Sydney vs. Freo contest, and I think that will be our week 1 opposition.

What do people think of the match up?

Freo's small forwards have me concerned.

Anyone. Anywhere. Anytime. Bring it the f**k on.

I respect our likely opposition in Freo, Cats or Hawks. I just know we can beat all of them no matter where we are or what day it is. We'll need to bring our best for finals no matter who it's against so all I'd want is for us to make a statement first week of finals and completely dominate whoever we end up facing.

If it's Freo? So be it. I'd love to end up facing them in the GF anyway & know they could still get there none-the-less.

If it's the Cats? I want another 100+ point obliteration and for our club to show we are taking their mantle as the next dynasty.

If it's the Hawks? Let's show them 2012 was no fluke. If their fans want to complain about injuries that's fine, they can feel like we did in 2013 when we put them to the sword on the big stage.

Freo have injuries and suspensions to key personnel - 5th
West Coast easier draw than Crows or Rich - 8th

The AFL's dream of a Showdown just became a Derby

Meaning we'd face Port Adelaide, running us off our legs...noooo!

No Fyfe, Barlow that game against Port in round 23 becomes a genuine 50/50 now and could decide 4th.

We're a chance for Gee at ANZ now (% dependent) according to my predictor! Such a close season.
