The Pie_squasher meant 100 years of underachievement. Obvious to us Carlton fans, just not to a troll. Both Richmond and Carlton have had temporary failure. It's all about scale Jisha. Now get lost.
Haha fair enough. Hey I am being civilized, You do not have to talk to me like that. I am simply asking questions in, what I feel the correct manner. If you cant speak to me properly, or have the decency to behave like a human than fair enough, I have no time for you. Don't let me catch you on the Tigers board.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, slow down Charlie Brown... What? Unacceptable? By Carlton? Failure? This really isnt a troll post... And im not looking for shits and giggles this time round... but what? A team that pretty much accepted they tanked (well fair enough, good players in draft) but how can you back this quote up? Is it just me or haven't Carlton just been in a succession of consistent failure?
Yes I know Richmond have too, I am not denying that, but I am also not making these claims... Think smart before posting. I do not want other Carlton fans stepping in getting defensive, this is pretty much a question for Pie_squasher alone, and if he really thinks this of his club.

Considering that Carlton have had the worst 6 years in the club history I'm not sure you can compare 6 years of doom and gloom to consistent decades when it comes to St Kilda. Collectively the last 40 years for CFC have been successful!!!!

Therefore I stand by my comments and will not stop hammering St Kilda for their abismal record.....

As for the tanking issue - I completely endorse and support what the club has done up until now. In actual fact I can smell a dynasty brewing down at Princes Park - I have no issue with CFC (or any club for that matter) tanking when the rules of the game actually support this action - short term pain for long term gain!!!!

Notice I haven't had a crack at Ninthmond here (has been tough) - because I actually sympathise with you and the last 25+ years of pain. Actually no I don't - you guys are just shi-t and are still jacked that Judd didn't want a bar of you, got shi-t shovelled on your front door and have a coach that's more interested in a suntan then a win!!!!

I guess the last 6 years have been unacceptable but you just pretend they didn't happen.:cool:

Last 6 years have been tough but short term pain only - what is your excuse for the last 100 years????

And the fact that you've had the best list for the last 5 years and have won squat!!!! Can you see that light diappearing from the end of the tunnel?

Lol you guys cant even have a civilized conversation without getting defensive.. scared much? Pie, I appreciate your response but that was a pretty awful attempt at a crack at Richmond. I would have thought internet insults would have upgraded by now.

Either way, I was coming here to find people that could actually take a question and answer it without turning it into a slinging match. You obviously cant.

Ok Jisha, what do you actually want to discuss? Our reaction came when you said
Whoa Whoa Whoa, slow down Charlie Brown
which is slightly derogative or at least represents moral high ground.

Say something useful about football, Carlton or Richmond, or anything and we will discuss. We have responded to your only point of significance in the last couple of posts.

My response of 'whoa whoa whoa' came after Pie announced "Unlike the Saints who have a history of consistent repeated failure this is not acceptable for the Carlton Football Club. This is the year where the turnaround will happen". But yet he says he can justify tanking matches to get better picks... Now tell me if I am wrong, but isnt losing a match of football failure? Thats how I always seen it. Yes you got a better player in the draft, and yes you bypassed a flaw in the system to get him in the way tanking, Which, I guess if Carlton fans dont care about it, then I dont care about it, But that is failure.

And im not talking about last year with tanking... the last 4 years have not been flash for Carlton, which in my books, 4 years is repeated failure.

Now if Pie_squasher thinks that Carlton does not accept repeated failure... than why is he still a Carlton fan? Picking up a player cheaply in the draft isnt a success at the cost of a season of football.

I could go into this all day, But I know as soon as I get on top of you guys I am going to be banned, which is not why I came to your board to get done to me.

*waits for insults against Richmond*

We qualified this by saying over 100 years. Done and dusted.

Failure in one season only - not a planned history of failure. Read this bit carefully. Ask different Carlton fans and you will get a different answer here. I personally believed Carlton tanked last year to get the pick. However in previous years, our list was so bad that I dont believed we tanked. We just lost. In a way you are taking us to task on this point. I would like to remind you Wallace gave up very early last year and started blooding young players meaning Richmond were unlikely to win games and get in a priority pick situation - basically they tanked. The previous year Collingwood def tanked to stay under 5 wins. I'm sure the Pies vs North game where the pies rolled over in the last few minutes is a def example. This puts three teams in the gun over tanking for picks. We are the obvious ones people mention tho cause we got the number one picks.

This is all semantics, it has been done on these boards a hundred times. Over the last 25 years, the tigers have been an abject failure 100%...it is embarrrassing. Over 6 years we have been an abject failure (at least due to draft sanctions - we have a real reason for failure, you guys dont). Over a hundred years, both Tiges and the Blues have done ok.

Now if Pie_squasher thinks that Carlton does not accept repeated failure... than why is he still a Carlton fan? Picking up a player cheaply in the draft isnt a success at the cost of a season of football.

This is all perpective. Carlton does not accept repeated failure so what it has done is what it could. An ageing list + draft sanctions mean Carlton had to take drastic action for success, that is, turn over its list. It had had to make hard decisions for eventual success. It has done this - our battle has been strategic. It is because Carlton do not accept failure they have made every decision possible to get Carlton back on top as quickly as possible...including tanking last season. We are def on the right track now due to this attitude. Think about Richmond, not picking on you but comparing. You have been in the bottom half of the table for nigh on 25 years with a couple of exceptions. Despite this fact you have NEVER put a list together that another team would envy - NEVER. Why? Because your club's administration accept mediocrity. They wont do the hard yards Carlton will do to get back on top.

Absolutely spot on - Jisha, you should listen to this man.....changes are required down at Tiger Land and unfortunately for you it is yet to occur after some tumulptous times.....Terry the Tanner has proven to be a fizzer, Miller keeps somehow justifying recuiting suicide and yet the club seems to accept it.

Time for action - Carlton have acted. New President, majority of new board, new coach and clean out of playing group....there is only one thing left to come and that is "success on the field".

This is all about proactivity - Tanking as you have stated is a fact brought about by a flaw in the system hence why not take advantage as many other clubs also have over the past years. Some may justify it, others don't but the simple fact is that the current system rewards it. Last years efforts brought Judd and the No. 1 draft pick to Carlton so you aren't going to get any arguments over what Carlton did last year here!!!

Who cares about what happened last century. The Saints supporters care about the last 9 smashings in a row we have handed out to your mob.

Hope you enjoyed those - we'll just be happy with the premiership cups we've accumulated over the years.....

Come to think of it that's probably the reason St Kilda need to take glory from individual game wins - because that's all you have!!!!! Hope you enjoy that solitary, lonely cup because it will be the last one you see for some time.....let us know if you would like to borrow one of ours for a week or so at some point to try and understand the meaning of success!!!

BTW - interested to know (considering you've brought up the last 9 games played) what the head to head is for Carlton - St Kilda games? Couldn't enlighten me could you?

Interesting, with us finishing where we did this year, and for the last 5 before that, you would want to make sure you beat us in 2008, because if you don't then its official, the Saints are the worst team in the history of the game.

And between you and me bud, we look like turning the corner this year, and you are going to look like a tool if you lose. If we lose, no sweat - rebuilding.

Wrong........TANKING.

Wrong........TANKING.

Everything you have said has been said over and over by over 100 other people. Have you got anything interesting or original to add? If not, go away.

It's like me coming to the saints board and saying over and over again. Nick Reiwoldt is a sook because he cried in the brisbane game. Then say it over and over again. It's dumb and pointless like all your comments.

Original content please, or are you a dimwit!

Whats up blue baggers?!! This has probably been done to death already but im curious as to how you guys think the ladder will look at the end of the season. Heres mine:

1. Geelong (Too good and too young)
2. Collingwood (w***ers)
3. Hawthorn (Good bet for the flag)
4. Port Adelaide (Always a danger)
5. Fremantle (Harvey will lead them to the finals)
6. St Kilda (Much improved from last year)
7. Adelaide (Still a threat but might not make it at all)
8. West Coast (Cousins AND Judd...Ouch!!!)
9. Sydney (On the way down)
10. Carlton (My opinion is finals in 09)
11. Brisbane (Strong team, always a threat, but not good enough)
12. Western Bulldogs (Lack of tall timber will hurt them)
13. Kangaroos (Dont know how they made finals last year)
14. Melbourne (Demons are no good, last four guaranteed)
15. Essendon (Shocking list and to many old farts)
16. Richmond (Worst team in the AFL by a country mile)

Hawks are going to play more kids this year, so will probably go backwards in ladder position, better draw this year tho, also remains to be seen if the good run with injuries was good management not good luck.

Carlton need to fix defence before they can go 22 rounds, 8 wins.

Richmond will realise medicority once more and finish between 9 - 13.

1. Geelong
2. West Coast
3. St Kilda
4. Collingwood
5. Hawthorn
6. Western Bulldogs
7. PA
8. Brisbane
9. Kangaroos
10. Sydney
11. Adelaide
12. Carlton
13. Richmond
14. Fremantle
15. Melbourne
16. Essendon

Did one on the Sydney board, a rough guess at what it looked like.

1. Collingwood
2. Geelong
3. Brisbane
4. West Coast
5. St Kilda
6. Hawthorn
7. Sydney
8. Carlton
9. Port
10. Kangaroos
11. Richmond
12. Fremantle
13. Essendon
14. Adelaide
15. W Bulldogs
16. Melbourne

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

No, seriously. First time in my lifetime that I've ever tipped Collingwood to finish on top.

Been right every other year of my lifetime (they didn't finish on top) so why not in 2008. :p

I wouldn't be suprised if we did, but I certainly wouldn't be suprised if we didn't. Anywhere in the top 4 is what I expect after last year, with another year into our youngsters (providing we can keep most of our 22 on the park).

If I were you guys, I'd be expecting a top 12 finish, but somewhere around 9th is realistic. 2009 will be your breakout year.

I'm thinking of something like:

1. Geelong
2. Hawthorn
3. Collingwood
4. Brisbane
5. Fremantle
6. West Coast
7. Port
8. Bulldogs

EDIT: I forgot St.Kilda... hmmm I dunno what to do... gonna be a good year.

GEELONG powerful side go close again
FREMANTLE will repeat 2006 and might challenge geelong
BRISBANE looking very onimous for the lions
MELBOURNE even year and will surprise a lot
PORT ADELAIDE just lack depth
STKILDA there abouts but injuries as usual
WEST COAST lost there guts so no one to feed lynchy
COLINGWOOD eddie will make sure they finish in the 8,money talks
hawthorn wil be the underachievers
western bulldogs lack kpp not far away
adelaide rebuiding give them 3 years in the wilderness
kangaroos last year was 1 in a million wont make 8 again with that list
carlton pending injuries there top 6 are good the rest are vfl players
essendon old list with old legs
sydney wont win many very much like essendon
richmond will finish bottom next 2 years.

Will be a close year with geelong minor premiers again followed closely by freo, brisbane and melbourne, the next 8 will fight out out for ladder position.as for carlton yes they have judd, murphy, stevens, fev, gibbs, walker then its a steep decline to players who a borderline afl players like there backline.just about every game in 2008 carlton will concede 100pts plus
