I'm looking to buy 2 new laptops, one for myself and one for my Dad. Only problem is I'm pretty much a computer ****** and have no idea what to look for. I want to spend $900 or under on each so I understand I wont be getting the best laptop out there for that money.

All I want my laptop to be able to do is store and play music, surf the net and connect to the wireless net at school. Dad only needs his with word etc. to type up quoutes as he is a builder.

Any recomendations? Shops to go to?

Yer thats fairly decent for the price. Not a very good processor but 3 gb ram makes up for that somewhat. I guess would be good for what you need it for

Have you tried www.computer******s.com.au !!!!!!!!!just kidding :D
Seems your tastes are pretty straight forward so you should be able to get a laptop that will suit your needs within that price range.

Try Dell http://www.dell.com.au/ decent enough laptops for the price and may I add pretty well priced for what you get as well.
