I'm looking for a laptop and just wanted to know people's thoughts on it

15.6 inch screen
Intel Core i5 Processor
4GB ram
640GB hard drive

http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/4c0246a0022ff13c273fc0a87e010611/Product/View/XC8832http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/4c0389e70215e27e273fc0a87e010673/Product/View/XC8832

now i know the resolution of this laptop is only 1366x768 so it is classified as 720p (as it cant be 768p) Would it still be able to play 1080p movies but just downscale it or something? Any clarification on this will be greatly appreciated

does anyone have a response?

i really just want an opinion on the laptop and a clarification of the downscale of the resolutions

If anyone could help or just offer their opinion it would be greatly appreciated

There are a plethora of cheap notebooks nowdays..
If cost is an issue, I think Dell are a pretty good option, so are Acer for their price.
Toshiba's do make great N/B's if you can get them at a good price.
Try to avoid Sony's as they are pretty expensive for what they do.
To answer your second question, yes it will play movies 1080p without to many issues.
I have played a HD movie on my netbook without any probs :thumbsu:

What's so bad about Sony's? I'm considering buying a X Series Vaio Notebook, have always bought Toshiba & used HP at work.

I don't think I've seen a better looking & light laptop as this one.
Nothing wrong with Sony, I just think they are quite expensive for what they do, essentially they are a notebook running windows and there are a lot of those around.

They are very light so if you are looking for lightweight then maybe they may be the way for you....:)

I got an X Series Vaio today, around $1500. I can't get over how light it is, it's lighter than a finals record.

Sorry again for the double up, an external DVD Re-writer with Nero 7 can burn DVD's as well as play them?
