At this early stage it looks like we've done really well out of last year's draft.

With no first round pick, we've scored Bolton, Graham, Garthwaite and Stengle.

Bolton and Stengle have already debuted and both look like they're going to be quality small forwards going forward.

Garthwaite has shown a lot in the VFL, and I think is only a week or two from debut and looks like being a great third tall at either end going forward.

Graham has struggled with injury, but in his first few games in the VFL he has shown that he is going to be above that level.

I think this will go down as one of our better drafts considering we didn't have a great draft position

Prestia and Caddy are long term players too. Injury and limited preseason has limited Prestia. Caddy still fitting in. They will be huge contributors next year along with Graham and Garth.

Prestia, Caddy, Nankervis, Bolton, Graham, Garthwaite, Stengle.
Looks like a winner so far!!!!

We have been really nailing the late/rookie picks in last couple of years too

Looks like a killer draft right now. Long way to go. But if we get a quality mid, 2 small forwards and a good KP, that is a brilliant draft.

And if Caddy and Prestia step up over time we have almost transformed the team in the off season 2016.

Looking very good so far. :D

Looks good so far. For comparison sake, here's the 2014 crop. Vintage year.

C.Ellis
C.Menadue
D.Butler
A.Miles
J.Short
J.Castagna
K.Lambert
I. Soldo

I believe 5 of them are currently in the senior squad. Miles is handy mid depth. First round pick Ellis currently injured?? and Soldo looking like he's developing nicely.

N.Drummond terribly unlucky with knee injuries and T.Hunt unlucky with the 2 left feet.

Big call. Lo-o-o-o-ng way to go before we know how good those players are. I am definitely no convinced yet. Hopeful, though.

Sorry, mate, I haven't quite captured his rakish physique in the 32x32 grid
no apology needed, Northerly in my all time top 5, probably top 3, that's why I saw him first:hearteyes::hearteyes::hearteyes:

Oleg also was in the 2014 draft but overlooked. In his draft year he was badly hampered by injury.

Generally speaking 2014 draft class was great

14. Lever
43. Mcgovern
46. Daniel
53. Mcdonald

Any of those talls would have been handy

We need to stop overhyping our draft picks. I remember Corey Ellis was called a Pendlebury/Deledio hybrid on this board, two years later and he's nowhere near AFL standard. Markov was talked up as a rising star hope, he was just displaced by Taylor Hunt. Rioli was meant to be the next best thing, he has faded big time in recent weeks. Jack Graham is now apparently the steal of the century and no one can believe why he slid so far...

I am still optimistic about Rioli and even Markov to an extent, but I am skeptical because we have been burnt so many times. It's easy to get excited about players who show "good signs" but we should all know by now that not every player takes that next step. I remember seeing Elton for first time and thinking we were onto something. Even Vlastuin looked a potential A grade mid. The fact is we haven't drafted an A grader since Dusty. I think we should wait until these kids do something of note because we start blowing our loads.
