Um, it doesn't say that Gaz was there at the time.
For Lauren to have a girly weekend away with her mum (staying at Versace and probably shopping etc all the time) would be a wonderfully thoughtful and generous gift... which is what would have been romantic about it.
Apparently (this is what I've been told by my wife) to do something romactic doesn't necessarily have to involve me... I know, I know
