Could somebody please tell me what's happening with Jason Laycock?? is he injured or just didnt get a game on the weekend??

He's injured.

I just hope the young bloke gets a better run at it injury wise next pre-season. he basically has had no proper fitness base coming into any of his seasons at AFL level.

Jason has been stalking me a bit lately (or is it the other way round?).
In the Victory Room at the Dome after the win over the Swans he gave a very quick chat/Q & A session. Essentially said he was hoping to be back in the next week or two...
I also saw him training at the Windy Hill gym a week earlier, and was happy he was working hard on the cross trainer.

It will be interesting to see if comes back straight into the side, or has a week or two with Bendigo. I suppose it will depend on whether the coaches want to give Ryder a couple more games early on.

I'm pretty sure he had a run at Bendigo in the intra-club match last week and he'll have another run there this week.

They're saying on the BB website he'll be out another 4 weeks with a quad strain. There's no way he would be playing in the seniors on his return. As much as I love his style and believe he will be a sensation at chf, Laycock should play a minimum of four unbroken weeks with Bendigo.
Surely his luck must change at some stage ?

After last nights events on the Footy Show, I'm not saying anything ;)

But if I was to say something, I would say Jason could work a little harder.

Also heard Courtney Johns is out for another 2 weeks with a hamstring strain. Is he ever going to get it right!
That's not true. Someone just misheard something that Sheeds said in his press conference on Wednesday. Johns problem is his ankle and from what I know it just didn't quite come up for this week, should be fine for round 3... fingers crossed.

You're not saying he suffers from the "Cupido" syndrome are you longy?..All talent, no drive and intensity.
I think Longy may mean more of a "Watson" style makeover rather than a "Cupido" dead loss perhaps. Not sure, but certainly if Laycock's laconic style of play is mirrored on the training track he could work harder.

Would that be right, longy?

Can I ask what events you're speaking of Longy? I don't understand

You can say what you like.

As the mod for this board i am libel for any legal action, this would worry most people but im seriously loaded with cash and spend most of my time looking for an excuse to unload large amounts of my vast fortune.

That would be close to the mark, I think he could also take better care of himself when he's injured.

Well if Rioli can use injury as an excuse to be a little out of shape then im sure Laycock can use the same. Its amazing what one full pre-season can do to a player's body shape.

It was a bit of tongue in cheek mate, but the Footy Show broke a story last night about a couple of AFL forum's facing legal action because members of the site posted the names of the three players involved in the drug issue.

At the end of last season Monfries and Laycock had the same operation. One was up and running a long time before the other.

Didnt laycock also have an op on his knee as well as the shoulder?

Paddy ryder looks the goods really impressive last week i thought in the ruck he can jump good feeling about him. Laycock and him in tandem in the ruck would be awsume, Hope to see him back soon.

Courtney Johns i only saw one of his games last year. Has he been round for a while? And is he any good didnt look to flash last year.

Yeah, but that was after the shoulder and after the practice matches had started (I think).

I'm pretty sure Monfries was running around and Laycock was still recovering from the shoulder op when he had the knee op.

It's true, but doctor's were amazed at how quickly Monfries recovered, took him next to no time. I'm currently recovering from shoulder surgery, and it's not going as quickly as I would have liked, but I don't think it's due to lack of attitude.

You'd have a much better idea of Laycock's attitude than me, but I wouldn't use the recovery times as a reason.
