I don't know much about Andy Mac other than his coach really likes him and wants him as a part of our best 22.

He's fearless.
He's a team player.
Happy to sacrifice his game for the larger good.
Does little things very well.
Is much liked around the club.

The other player that is easily put on the shelf is Ellard.
Same applies here with Mick loving his intensity, work ethic and character.
Don't be surprised at all to see him part of our best squad next year.

I've always like Ellard and have felt that he's never been able to have an extended run at it to cement a spot. I don't buy in to arguments that he's to small to be a regular AFL footballer.

Is Sam Mitchell too small?

I know we haven't seen much of Davey this year as for whenever he's been ready for a call-up he gets injured again.

I've seen him in about 8 games this year and he's been nothing short of inspirational in each of them. What's not to like?

Interesting point. Honestly thought he was possible Captain material prior to MM and this season.

OP's list was exactly what I had in mind. Carrots, Duigan and Waite out for Touhy, Henderson and Kreuzer. Murphy to stay captain.

+1 for me as well.
There is just no chance Murphy will be removed as captain after just one year. He's clearly carrying an injury, but more than that he needs some help through the midfield.

I actually agree with Henderson being captain, but maybe as a successor to Murphy in 3 years. He himself will be around 25-26 y.o. and he will have been come an absolute man mountain mongrel by then. He grows with confidence all the time. I see him make some mistakes when he tries to take plays on and gets pinged but I also saw Buddy Franklin do the same thing as he developed and now look at him.

Hes one of the only players I see who plays with emotion and is inspired enough that it can be contageous.

Bloody heck I'm on the Zac Tuohy bandwagon! Every time I hear the bloke speak....like his comments on Byrne joining the Blues.....I think HE would epitomise everything I would want in the leader of Carlton Football Club.
