All trolling aside, Carlton will play finals next year.

Under Mick, they'll definitely play finals. We did too, most years for 11 years. This is only a 3 year contract. I reckon Carlton have done this purely to silence the whiners and the mob.

I'd be surprised if the Blues board genuinely thought they'd see a flag in the next 3 years. Mick's not famous for winning flags quickly. You take away the state side he was coaching at West Coast, his record isn't actually that amazing. Especially compared to Leigh Matthews.

But its far better than Rattens

I'm sure Davis would have hit a target from a kick in tonight

word is he wants one last go at AFL..
I say he'll be back next year in a pies jumper.
AA from the back line.

I hope not, would hate to see him at Collingwood again, even if he offered to play for free. Besides, considering his last AFL season was an AA year he is now due for an absolute shocker - would add nothing.

Seriously? Sure he had a talented side in WA but he changed the whole playing and club culture so they learnt to win away from home. 3 GFs in the first 5 years is a great effort.
As for us, he also changed the club culture to the point where he took a pretty average list and took them to 2 GFs in his first 4 years. Sure he didn't win a flag back then but to go down by two kicks against one of the greatest sides says something.

And if you are going to compare to Matthews, Lethal inherited a list which was built up through draft picks and salary cap allowances.

Not a one-eyed MM fan but his record stacks up very well.
