Bring on the Wizard Home Loans Cup. That’s Melbourne coach Neale Daniher’s message after watching his squad go through their latest intra-club hit out at Whitten Oval on Thursday.
Daniher believes the Dees have seen enough of each other after completing their third intra-club practice match. Now their coach says they are ready for the real thing.
“We’re probably sick of playing each other,” he said after the latest hit out. “We’ve played each other three or four times and we’re sick of that. We are looking forward to going up another gear Friday (week).
Melbourne will play Richmond in its opening Wizard Cup clash, and Daniher is pleased with what he has seen thus far in the preseason. He singled out Clint Bizell, Cameron Bruce and Brad Miller for praise after today’s game. Russell Robertson also looked sharp, kicking three goals and rookie list forward Dale Carson booted four.
Daniher rested a number of senior players, but expects most of his list to take part in the Wizard Cup or Wizard Regional Challenge Series.
“Other than Broadbridge, Nicholson, Ellis and Molan, who had an arthroscope on a cartilage, all of the others should have an appearance either late in the Wizard Cup or over the next couple of weeks,” Daniher said.
“Vardy is a couple of weeks off and Yze’s got a sore achilles so we protected him a little bit, but if it was a home and away game he’d probably be playing. Armstrong and Brown could possibly play next week.”

, but don't the Dees usually lose to Richmond?.
