McPharlin will be an all australian backman and for good reason.
He is the best, and is an awesome drive from our backline.
He may have the ablity to be a 60 goal a year foward, something we need desperately.
But after today his value down back cannot be understated.
Along with Haselby he got us back into the game in the second half.
On that note, Paul Haselby congratulations on your first of many Brownlows, you are currently the best player in the competition.

I know we won today but really, it was far from impressive. Lets face it, Richmond are rabble both on and off the field, Just like we were 3 years ago. They are facing a petition by members for a extraordinary meeting to out the board and their coach is a dead man walking.
To be scoreless in the 1st 1/4 was disgraceful. We have gone backwards from last year and Macca looks like he has played his last game in the purple. What a way to treat a club champion:mad:

RICHMOND officials are hoping there is no support at the MCG today for a petition calling for a mid-season extraordinary meeting at Punt Rd.

Well said, didn't deserve to win. I find it very difficult to stomach the fact that they can drop a player who would die for the cause and leave an under performing soft co ck prima donna like Medhurst in the side.

I think part of the problem is that Medhurst and Farmer need to keep their feet in the contest. I almost lost count of the number of times they would fall / slip over or play for the free before going down. This gives their man a headstart on clearing the ball and effectively puts them out of the contest and releases the pressure on their opponent.

Didn't deserve to win it? so you're saying Richmond did?
We didn't snatch a lucky win, it was hard fought from the 2nd half. I do understand what you're getting at though, the 1st half was insipid and i think anyone who made a post at that time would have thrown in the towel.

I was very impressed with how good our structure turned out with mcpharlin and pavlich both back, there was a reason they couldn't score and thats because our best players were back there.

Mcpharlin back or forward.. its a tough call. I like him both places, but its harder for him to get in the game forward so back giving us some attacking run is probably better.

I think farmer's pressure was excellent, one of his best games for the season (shame he didnt have his kicking boots on)

We'll learn more about our side next week i'm thinking, any other side bar richmond would have beat us this week in that position.

That is cop out, for professional footballers particular one who has the experience such as Farmer, who after doing a warm up on the ground can't select the right footwear is inexcusable.

How is it a cop out?

A cop out is a poor excuse for trying to justify a situation.
All FreoDocker does is identify a problem, he's not trying to excuse it.
