We've beaten last years wooden spoon runners up and this years possible wooden spooners. Next week we'll beat another ordinary team, and the week after we'll beat an interstate team on the slide at home. Then we play Carlton.

So we should be 5 and 1 but we wont have beaten anybody decent in that lot of wins.

Its good to win but the real test will come when we play the good teams, commencing Round 7.

I agree with that. I also think we have cause to be excited if we are at least 4 and 2, thats good going compared to the last two years. Despite who we have played and will play in the first 6, they are still six of the sixteen teams, with us and another two that we are better than that should see us as a top eight side and that gets me excited. People like Joffa who get carried away are ridiculous but i'll be over the moon if we are five and 1 after the baggers.

I definitly agree, I mean so far the signs have been pretty good and its pretty hard not to get excited, but lets not get carried away just yet, I'm still going to go into the next few games with a cautious mindset as its only rnd 3, and Collingwood has not won more then 3 games in a row in 2 years. Essendon always seem to do well against us regardless of form and likewise Carlton will again will be hard to beat as they have put in a few spirited performances of late, but that said, these teams are the teams that collingwood SHOULD beat. The real tests will come we we play a west coast or st kilda, judging on current form if we played adelaide again i expect the score would have not blown out in the 4th qtr. But yes lets be excited but also be careful about what we say at the moment, as anything could happen.

Funny isn't that the same people who said the year was all over after round one now have us as the best team in the comp.

First target = Beat Essendon on ANZAC Day
Second Target = Turn for home at least 6 wins 5 losses
Third target = 12 wins
Fourth target = 15 wins
Fifth Target = re-assess all targets if we are assured of making the 8

Top Post - Couldnt agree more.....For some reason when the pies are on a roll the football world is a buzz, with some saying It's good for the game when the pies are doing well and some looking forward to the pies crashing back to earth with a thud..........The last 2 weeks the lads have played some super football and it's hard to find a negative? But Essendon is the one we want Hawthorn and North will mean nothing if we don't beat the bombers we owe these blokes big time and no doubt even without there star and captain they will be ready to have a another crack at us..........I think Mike Sheenan hit the nail in the head this morning "No other supporters get more excited after a good win than Collingwood supporters"

Roll on next Tuesday!

Yeah did you read Mike Sheahan, i felt like laughing after he wrote us off has having no chance. now he is praising us, very amusing! But he was right about that collingwood supporters do get excited quickly after a good win!!

no arguments from me hotpie, until we beat a contender we dont want to get to carried away. Having said that there are some very good signs. The main ones being
-Fraser and Richards in the same side. One area I expected to get beaten was in the midfield . I think Richards ruckwork which allowed fraser to do some nice things going foward was the main reason for our midfield dominance. If these 2 stay fit it will be very important to our structure as they will only get better

-Obviously having rocca taz and didak fit and playing together(no brainer)

-We seem to have a bit more depth this year with several players in the 2s capable of stepping up- ie Davies , Burns , c cloke , j cloke etc. Obviously lack of injuries helps.

There is a long way to go but hopefully we can only go forward from here

Its hard not to get abit exited after pumping a side by 77 points and seeing all our fowards click. and the middle dominate.

We need to win this week it a massive game should be a bumper crowd and hopefully some of the kids can stand up im sure Thomas will he's a big game player.

100% fit this year (albeit only three weeks in) compared to last year:

Richards,
Fraser,
Tarrant,
Rocca,
Buckley,
Johnson,
Didak,
Davis,
C Cloke (even though he cant get a game, at least he's fit and in form in the twos)
T Cloke (injured late last year and even though he's not playing great, he's at least fresh)

Fit players make a big difference. Only Licuria and Clement seem to be carrying injuries (maybe Tarrant too).

What do you mean should be?

It is going to be massive mate. I'm not expecting to much from Thomas as it will only be his 4th game, but i know he will entertain all the Collingwood supporters and a majority of other teams supporters when he does get the ball:thumbsu:

No Collingwood Supporter should take any notice of what Mike Sheahan says. He had Jimmy Clement at 47 in his top 50 for gods sake. The man hates Collingwood and he is a germ.

Will never forget the spray myself and a few other Maggies supporters gave him and Caroline Wilson after the 2003 Preliminary Final against Port at the G. One of the greatest sprays ever!

MacDaicos,
I was there that day with Sloth6, Mike Sheahan was told in no uncertain terms how little he knew about football and how much of a collingwood hater he is , he also scoffed at the suggestion that he fondled himself at the sight of James Hird, 'Caro' was lucky that all the attention was on Mike and it wasn't until a breath was needed (3mins into the spray) that she copped her whack.
suffice to say the guards at the AFL members that day earned their cash that day.

MacDaicos, The Russian may have exaggerated a little there (the security guards thought we were pretty funny actually, as did the Collingwood supporters that were seated near us outside the Ron Barrassi Dining Room). Caro got off very very lightly. Also copped a barrage for not Having Buckley at number one in his top 50
