LOL. A premiership player and a best and fairest. Has played more games than any other #1 pick as well. Not too shabby at all.

You're judging Clive now, I'm judging Banfield now. Banfield is nowhere near as he used to be, but he has improved early on this season compared to last season.
 
The Eagles shafted Whoosha and they shafted Jako when they did not make him captain. No argument.

Oh and just on that forward line... :rolleyes: Now Ill be honest here without bias.

Waterhouse - He is just coming off a year or more layoff and he kicked two pretty soft goals last week. He will need a lot of time to settle back into AFL football yet you believe he will tear it up on Derby day...highly unlikely. Not a bad forward on his day but he is inconsistent at best.

Longmuir - more a name than anything else. Hasnt really done anything to suggest he is a quality forward. Hasnt kicked huge bags, hasnt kicked 60+ goals in a season etc etc Has only kicked 4 goals this season and is still recovering from injury.

Croad - has kicked the massive total of 1 goal this season. Only played 2 games but so far he is averaging 0.5 goals per game. Yes he is an ok forward and he kicked almost 50 goals or more last season IIRC but he is no game breaker like a Lloyd or a Neitz. Should be good for 3 but can also go missing.

Medhurst - your only real quality forward. But even he is struggling somewhat with just 7 goals in your 4 games so far. That's not even 2 a game, which Medhurst should be getting. Still he is quality.

Farmer - Farmer of old was spectacular and could destroy teams in the space of five minutes. However the Farmer that plays for Fremantle is just your run of the mill small forward. Hasnt done anything of note since joining the club and has 6 goals in 4 games this season. By comparison, across town, our small forward has 17 goals in 4 games!


So in reality your forward line is more name than actual talent. Sure Longmuir will get better and is a quality player but he is recovering from injury and isnt in any sort of from, same goes for Waterhouse. Farmer is a non factor.

Most of the goals in the derby will come from the midfield, Cousins has kicked 7 I think this season, Judd 6, Kerr 4 or 5, and for your lot, Bell, Haselby and Headland have 4 each and Carr has kicked 5.

So please stop going on and on about your inept forward line.

Kicked 2 goals , a trademark Clive point and assisted another, won't need much time but still will require a quality defender.
Underestimate him at your peril.

He has only played 6 qtrs at most and looked the best he has all year on Sunday . Still kicked 3 and gave off at least 2 more. Will also need a Quality defender who is strong overhead and fast.

Again Croad played his best (or second best) game for the club on sunday. He will probaly spend more time down back where he looked a lot more comfortable, with occasional sortees forward.

On Sunday farmer of old was nearly back. He got a taste and was arguably our best forward (although the stats don't show that but you no the saying about statistics) and he liked the taste.
He again will need a quality defender.

In reality our no talent forward line kicked 25 goals between 11 players and had another 17 shots on goal.

Clutching at straws to compare Matera to Farmer. Given Matera is really your only forward option, if he didn't kick any goals, your whole team would be stuffed. If Farmer was one on one inside 50 for the whole match he would have potted 10 last week, even if the team only kicked 15. A great forward line is defined by much more than the number of goals one player kicks.

As seen last Sunday, the sheer number of forward options should be enough to destroy your pathetic excuse for a backline, which really consists only of hasbeens, crabs and hacks. :D

One was getting attacked by a water bottle, another was making a comback and could only play half a game wit a mattress on his leg and the rest were slowed down by the scuba gear they had to use! :)

But they will be fine on Sunday. :D
