Let's talk real 'conditioning'...

Ok..
Here's a little exercise going forward....

Remember that photo of our new young clubs together?
Take note of their bodies...yeh they are young guys....that's not my point..
Even better, wait till you actually see them run around next season for the first time.

Now go look for the new recruits of West Coast, Freo, & let's throw in Port as well.

Hang on to the memories of the body types and state of musculature of all those young players. (nothing special at the moment of course)

Ok....if we go forward 2 seasons.....(or mark this down for the next 2 seasons)

Now...
I bet anyone, that in 2 seasons, the Weagles, Freo and Port guys will be bigger and better, and their bodies will be in better physical condition then our guys...
Why?
This is a serious question, it has happened at Richmond since the 80's and continues to happen...

And I don't think bringing up isolated examples hold much water, like...
"Oh....Johnny Annear was well built"

I'd like to hear something intelligent feedback on this

(And if you are going to come out as a tw@t with all guns blazing with abuse......FU in advance........then come up with something original)

Cheers

Seriously DL. Haven't you been reading about the tough training regime the boys have been going thru?? You're talking hypotheticals. And if we do as you advise and the boys look bigger than the eagles players will you have your eggs scrambled or sunny side up?

Conditioning has been a problem at RFC for decades now.

We always look small compared to WCE and Adelaide in particular. It's probably got to do with the difference in professionalism of the clubs. Kane Johnson said how shocked he was with the work ethic when he got to RFC.

Schulz should be massive in size by now and would be at WCE. If Daniel Kerr was at RFC, he would be the piddly size of Tambling.

Take a look at Tambling pre-draft ('04) vs Tambling now.

Safe bet we own some weights somewhere or other.

We've been redeveloping the club since 1982 !

Just one pre-season cup, I'd like to look out our players and say,
shees a lot of them have put on some size.....maybe we can stand our ground against the stronger, harder teams....

For 20 years we have been having 'the hardest pre-season ever'...

LOL

pfft, we have been developing ******** for the last 20 years ffs, maybe we have but it's all been crap anly, i can't be ********ed posting at the moment!!!!

take a look at some of the players, then you might say that, all i can see l8tly at RFC is that if something needs to happen it's happening, trust me, the RFC is like any corporation, dissorder starts at the top and works it's way down, all the way to the players, i work for a company right now that lost 20 million last year and 20 million the year before due to shocking managment and it spread from the top all the way to he bottom right to the line workers, things are changing now tho and things are getting better, even the lines workers are doing good, my point is RFC has been in the dumps for quite some time now but it is it's turn to rise again.

Agree with you that we could be 'bigger'. But also feel we havent recruited guys with a bit of mongrel in them. Brett Evans perhaps the last and unfortunately didnt have that much skill to back it up. But then again neither does Brett Kirk and he almost single handedly dragged Sydney over the line in the GF and adds enourmous value to Sydneys midfield, even on fast tracks because he will win the one-on-one's. I'd like to see a guy like Shulz make it obviously but just dont see any anger in the guy when he gets beaten in the contest.

Good call on Brett Evans...
I saw a young Brett Evans bump Barry Hall out at Waverley one day...
Brett caught Barry near the boundary line...

Whatever happened to Brett Evans...?
