LRT turned the game. Has genuine second efforts unlike Jolly and Chambers.
So true ... whenever the footy is in reach LRT attacks it as if it had just called his mother something very rude indeed. It's not just the second efforts, it's the third, fourth and fifth efforts that I really like.

Keep in mind that not many players can fumble the ball as often and as well to get those 3rd/4th/5th effort opportunities as Lewis!

He was good when thrown into the ruck last night, not sure how the Jolly/LRT combo would go against a ruckman/ruckman combo.

This was just about LRT's best game for Sydney. Last night he added a string to his bow in the ruck that I'm sure few thought he'd have had. And he really did give us a lot of momentum late in the game.

Cetainly takes some pressure off Jolly if LRT can reliably have a crack in the centre.

I like the combo of a solid ruckman and a mobile in support. Fraser really exposed our lack of mobility around the ground last week.

All the more reason for us to develop another tall defender. LRT had a few runs in the ruck in 2005 and I thought he aquitted himself OK.

Richards is too soft as a defender. His only value to us is up forward, but after Vogel's sturling last Q he must stay in. Where too for Teddy apart from a fill in player for injuries.

Revelatory performance in the ruck. I thought his game especially in the second half helped turn the game our way.
The problem is going to be when we are playing a team with more than one forward who is a decent size.Leo has shown that he needs to be absolutely 100% firing to take on the giants and C Bolton,(who I am a huge fan of) looked out of his depth when the ball was delivered quickly to Pavlich.
Vogels surely must be groomed to be a forward, that leaves Richards, who I am still willing to give time to improve, but don't know how positive I can allow myself to feel about that.

Still; good to know that LRT is an option in the ruck. It's putting the Chambers selection in perspective.

He is WAY better than Chambers. And not just in ruck, around the ground as well. He might possibly be the Swans future No. 1 ruckman...

Tell the dud to get a haircut.

I still remember his effort against Port playing in Ruck in that famous 2003 win. I honestly thought that was his calling card as he had potential back then, but after seeing him ruck on Saturday night i think we have found ourselves maybe a permanent 2nd ruckman even maybe a 1st ruck?

The problem is i rate him at chb as well and i am sure the coaching staff does as well.

As for Chambers, never to play in the red and white again!!

I don't think you can assess his ruck potential just based on two games, a few years apart. On Saturday night he provided shock value as the Dockers almost certainly didn't spend much planning time trying to work out how to combat him in the ruck. He was certainly effective, and I think he could be effective there again in the future off and on but if he became a regular ruckman other clubs would soon work out ways to play against him. Hid height would be one factor, given he's not very tall as ruckmen go.

We also need to bear in mind that Longmuir and Polak are hardly the most physical ruckmen in the world, and Polak is as much of a pinch-hitter in that department as LRT is. It would be a different matter rucking against Cox and Gardiner, for example.

The biggest obstacle, however, you have pointed out yourself - ie the fact that he is also developing into a valuable member of the team as a CHB. There isn't really anyone else running around in the squad who could obviously take his place in that role - B2 and Vogels as pinch-hitters maybe, but they will sometimes be needed against another tall mobile forward. We have the likes of Shaw, maybe Rowe (he's already better than Meiklejohn ever was) and possibly even Doyle as possible ruck alternatives.

Against Freo it wasn't too much of an issue because, apart from Pavlich, there weren't really any quality tall forwards to counter. Had McPharlin been playing, or Sandilands (which would have allowed Longmuir and/or Polak to spend more time forward) the equation would have been different.

Pinch-hitter yes, but I don't think he's a long-term, permanent solution.

He reminds me of a young Adam Goodes - Goodsie did a lot of things in his early years that made me cringe but his leap and athleticism were still good while he learnt the caper.

Thats it no more!!! I can handle that he has got some athletic ability and he is young but to say he reminds you of a young Adam Goodes is too much!!!!!! You have gone to far now Sir!

He has the potential to be a regular player and potentially a good player but not a superstar like Goodes. I cant imagine ever seeing LRT making a speech after winning the brownlow!!!

I think he should stay at CHB and keep on working under the guidance of Stephen Silvagni. He probably needs to add a little more bulk to his frame as well.

Overall he could be a good player for the Bloods but not an exceptional player.
