I was in the court for sentencing, but just wasn't sure.

Is there a point in time where he will have to be let out? How often will the review board have to make this decision? Yearly? 5 yearly?

I'm assuming this thread can also include opinions and thoughts on a "Life Sentence" in general not just this case.

If so....

It is of my opinion a life sentence should be just that - a life sentence. No parole ever.

It would make sense if that was the case.

I agree. IMO, for murders like this the bloke should just be kept away from society. I'm not going to start a barbaric "He should be tortured and prodded with a stick for the rest of his life" rants, but he should just be kept away simple as that. And when he's sobered up, he can realise that that's all life is for him now. Its a lot harder to get laid in prison. Actually maybe I'm wrong about that.

We do have a few people serving "term of natural life" sentences such as Dupas, Bryant and Milat amongst others.
