Lleyton Hewitt received a code-violation point penalty for allegedly throwing a ball at an umpire during his match with Carlos Moya in the Rome Masters:
from foxsports:
[
The trouble didn't end there for Hewitt. In the next game he tossed a ball he thought had gone soft towards Bernardes, striking him on the foot, an act which lost him a point for unsportsmanlike conduct.
"I wanted him to check the ball," said Hewitt.
"I didn't say anything to him before I threw the ball and he took that as being in anger against him.
"He has umpired a lot of my matches and I've never had a problem with him, but in the heat of the moment it's just how you see it out there."
Furious Hewitt called ATP supervisor Gayle Bradshaw on to court but he upheld the umpire's decision.
"I knew nothing could be done because he hadn't seen it but I wanted the supervisor or the referee to be made aware of it," added Hewitt.
Hewitt has been in trouble before, notably at last year's French Open when he was accused of calling an umpire a "*******".
In another incident at the US Open last August he demanded that a black linesman be removed from the court when he disagreed with his line calls. Hewitt was playing black American James Blake at the time and tennis commentators believed his comments inferred racial bias.
"There's no doubt I play with a lot of emotion out there, that's when I play my best tennis," said Hewitt.

Does trouble seem to follow this guy around, or is he scrutinised too closely. Listening to Hewitts explanations is like reading Shane Warne's autobiography; nothing is as it appears, and nothing is his fault.
Champion tennis player, and a proud South Aussie though!!!
