Lleyton's lost to Gooch

Lleyton is finished as a top player. The players are hitting it harder than him. The excuses he comes up every year are getting more and more laughable. He wont even make it to the third round at the Aussie Open. I would like to hear the excuse when that happens. I am going to have my matches in the evening so maybe its too cool for me to play. Hell I dont even know why I am contributing to this thred.

Hewitt still an absolute tosser I see, listen to his interview after another loss.

"I was the better player and the stats proved it"

"I felt like a cricketer out there, the umpires are useless"

The cricket comment was said as a joke and a throw away line.

I wonder if the Russian people were embarresed by the various comments Tursonov made during the tournaments in relation to the umpires.

The Gooch is ordinary and worse over 5 sets. Should win his first round match at the AO.

Hewitt is past his best, but has won 2 Grand Slams which at the end of the day is a fantastic effort and more than most ATP players could even dream off.

Guess I was wrong about the Gooch winning, he really is just a top 100 player, not much more than that.

It seems to me that Gooch only has the one gear when he plays. You can see Hewitt lift at various points of a match or at Davis Cup level whereas Gooch is one paced.

At times looked disinterested today and never really seemed keen on putting in an effort or a change of strategy.

Still in 09 when he is playing at his rate and a Nadal/Hewitt/Ferrero type is warming up for the open in Sydney, il stupidly rate him again
