Its that time again! Pre-Season has been away for a few weeks now, with an unexpected tragic set back with the floods but footy ain't too far away.

Sadly, UQ might not have a home ground for a bit. Hope thats not the case and we have to do a freaking Yeronga and spend a season away.

Training my arse off at the moment. Going to be a great season!

Yup same here. Pre-season has been underway for a few weeks. Lost a couple of nights due to flooding and our grounds (which weren't surfaced yet anyway) are out of action until about Rd9 or so I hear potentially.

So we'll either be organising something like "first 9 games away, next 9 home" or something similar. Could be interesting.

Training has had to be moved also and without lights it's causing some shortish nights. At least putting it up to 3 nights a week is helping to cover some of the lost time.

You back to playing Chez?

Personally I'm doing my best at pre-season at the moment. A small group of us even climbed Mt Warning on Saturday for extra work. But I'm heading to Europe for 3 weeks, leave on Monday so going to miss a bunch of preseason.

Another toughish year ahead logistics wise for Yeronga (our club house will also be demolished and out of action) but we'll no doubt come through with flying colours... red & black of course

Yeah boss. Feeling great since starting training. Helps of course that I've resolved certain substance abuse issues I was having last year that got me into some trouble.

Aiming to play a starting role in the 4ths this year, but I'd be happy to get a nod to play on the bench as a rotational replacement player. I'm feeling really happy with my level of ball skills at the moment, hitting targets from 20 m on the lead, fending off for a quick handball. Its all coming back now. I just need to work on my fitness recovery.

Those on this forum that are in the Brizzie area, let us know if your keen for a run around. I'm a UQ Boy, Jorgo is scum and we have a few from various other clubs aswell

There is Griffith-Marooka Roosters based out of Griffith Uni (Grif-Tafe! hehehehe) as well as their Marooka ground.

Not too far away is the University of Queensland Red Lions, which has 4 teams spread across 2 divisions. Great atmosphere and great place for ya.

Unfortunately am in Rome right now. Midway through a jaunt around Europe. Won't be home for that praccy match. In fact that is the first I have heard about it. Not surprisingly though am very out of the loop given how long I've been away.

Yes people have told me that. But then again people always like to make up reasons for why they lose. Interestingly enough it never has anything to do with how shit their football team is

UQ played Redcliffe and Caboolture. I started slowly, only got 1 touch in the first game, but that touch was a goal

2nd game against Caboolture took a couple of marks and a couple kicks. But also got decked by Caboolture players a couple of times. Deserved a 50 metre penalty for being taken out after taking a mark! But noooooooo, incompetant Umpires!

First praccy for Devils 1s & 2s Friday night was called off due to ground safety reasons in the rain.

Devils 3rds had a win against Ipswich Reserves a couple of Saturdays ago now.

Nah mate, haven't finished my cricket commitments yet. Good feeling around the club at training, but I guess most clubs are the same in early March.

I'm a ressies man meself. Don't aim to be anything higher. I only play footy for the fun of it. I'm still a few weeks away myself. Playing the praccy games, but won't get a run until I pay off my fees which might take a bit

UQ Division 2 take on Beenleigh @ Beenleigh. The reserves grade team will be looking to repeat its effort in eliminating the Buffaloes from last years finals series. Sadly, old Chezzy here most likely won't get named due to owchie groin syndrome. Was hitting my strides last night at training, but the result was my left groin muscle/tendons feel utterly shit house.

Looking forward to getting back hopefully for round 2 against Coomera
